True. But the TEN scenario seems a bit more realistic since they have the #5 & #18 versus the #11 and #32.

Either way, BB is likely to trade down in the first and pick up another 2nd or 3rd.

The 5 is irrelevant in a RFA tender. The signing team gives up their original pick. So 11 for NO, 18 for TENN.

Right. I think I said that the Titans would be giving up #18 in my original comment.

Anyway, the #5 may be irrelevant to the RFA transaction itself, but it might be relevant to a Titans' decision to go after Butler in the first place.

one thing is certain, this could be a very interesting next 3 months depending what we do with Jimmy G, after the last few days i am more inclined to keep him just in case Brady gets hurt.. But the pros and cons are so hard to work out. Pluses we could get Picks and arguably make this the best pats team for a long time but risk the Brady injuries.. Realistically what would you all want from a Jimmy G trade?

Well, the good news is that the opportunity for BB to take another Tavon Wilson or Jordan Richards in the 2nd round has pretty much been eliminated.

I know people like to laugh at Tavon Wilson but he has been in the league for 6 or 7 years now and even started last year for the Lions. As unexpected as it sounds but that is a successful second round pick overall.

People have this idea that only if someone turns into a pro bowl player that pick was worth it.

Yeah, I know. I was just playing it for a laugh.

As I admitted in a post elsewhere, manxman is much funnier than I am.

As far s I could see, the big problem with Wilson in NE was that he never seems to figure out the coverage schemes and on-the-fly adjustments. OTOH, he was an excellent special teamer for the Pats and a great tackler. And he was, indeed, a tackling machine for the 2016 Lions. Maybe he fits better in their coverage schemes.

Looking at later round edge guys. Ifeadi Odenigbo was primarily a pass rusher. Not a lot of play time, but had a better pressure rate than Taco. Power player. Likes to engage the tackle and bull rush. Used as an interior guy occasionally. Not amazing testing numbers, but really not bad at all. He outperformed a lot of the big names at the Combine. His broad jump is very good for 260 pounds. Need to do a more in depth breakdown, but for a later round guy, he's intriguing. He had 6 sacks in a two-game stretch against Iowa and Michigan State this year, so the potential is there. Might be worth bringing as a developmental guy.

ANN ARBOR, MI -- The Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office has authorized a domestic violence charge against former University of Michigan football player and projected top round NFL draft pick Jourdan Lewis, according to court records.

Lewis is accused of assaulting his 20-year-old girlfriend, Ann Arbor police Detective Lt. Matthew Lige said.

Police were called to Lewis' residence in the 3000 block of Signature Boulevard about 1 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, for a domestic violence call, Lige said.

With the Hightower situation sorted now! all good news in my view.,
Leads me with this so called issue.. Jimmy G i want to trade him just so we can dominate this draft and build this roster even more, and possibly pick up a mobile Linebacker that can just cover more than anything else, even if he's poor in other areas.. im talking like a 5th rounder. Other than that who knows!

NC State's safety Josh Jones is really interesting to me despite requiring a first round pick or early-mid second to draft. Long, strong and with top notch athleticism. We don't have his agility drills yet but he was the second sparq-iest safety at the combine after Melifonwu. He has the size of a Su'a Cravens with the athleticism (agility drills pending) of Kamu Grugier-Hill. As a future Chung replacement I'm very intrigued.

His tape looks a lot more natural than Melifonwu's. Intriguing guy if we have a pick around that spot. I'd like to start developing a Chung backup / replacement for the future.

Rob Staton, the guy beind Seahawks Draft Blog is a fellow Brit who comes up with some really interesting stuff.

Bowser has been growing on me. I originally dismissed him due to the fight with a teammate that left him with a broken orbital bone (not a fan of disruption in the locker room), but the more I watch him and look over the measurables, the more I think if he can mature and keep his act together, that he's a perfect fit for our defense. Enough athleticism and experience at linebacker to drop in coverage, but also enough size and explosion to rush the passer effectively. He had 8.5 sacks in 7 or 8 games this year. Pretty impressive. Clearly an ascendant talent on the field.

EDIT: Notice whose name shows up over and over again on that list? Jordan Willis.

SECOND EDIT: They also point out that Willis is one to keep an eye on -- I was impatient and posted too soon!

Calling my shot. NC State CB Jack Tocho WILL be a New England Patriot on the monday after the draft albeit with one caveat (see later). One thing I look for when looking for potential Patriots, particularly in the secondary are smart and eloquent types - think Ryan, McCourty, Harmon. Having seen a couple of interviews with Tocho, he easily fits that type. He's a graduate (another plus) and he's a team captain. And from nfl.com:

Compact frame with good play strength. Highly intelligent and will be able to digest an NFL playbook easily. Known for work ethic on and off the field. Veteran cornerback who understands his own strengths and weaknesses. Plays with confidence. Has good field awareness from bail coverage and shows good pattern recognition. Limited false steps when transitioning to the throw. Has played both sides of the field and has experience in press, off and zone.

2017 NFL Draft Profile: Jack Tocho

He plays well in run support and gets his hands on the ball (11 PBUs last year) and can play press or zone and outside and potentially the nickel. And at 6-0, 202lbs has also been discussed as a move to safety.

Time for my caveat and that's athleticism. Patriots CBs tend to be athletic and Tocho doesn't fare too badly. He had a 4.54 forty at the combine (faster than Ryan) and a 35" VJ. But, he didn't run the agility drills and they tend to be important for BB so that might be an issue if he doesn't do well in them at his pro day. But, in terms of smart character guys, Tocho is right up there as one of the best I've found.

I did see a tweet today saying that the Bowser fight thing is a bit of a non-story. He was punched, but didn't punch back.

Right now, the top reaches of the second round are more appealing than pick 32. If we can get 32 from the Saints, I'd be very fine with trading back. There's a lot of talent in the 32-55 range that really interests me.
