2017 NFL Combine Thread

With 35" arms, that's OT worthy.

I still maintain that the draft is about the next four or five seasons though. That's why Lewis/White being on the team isn't necessarily a deal breaker.

No, it's not a deal breaker and I would love to have him but I just can't see BB taking him with 32 -- even if he is available. For that he has shown a way too good track record with backs that require less resources to acquire. Like I said a few times the relative gain our offense gets from McC is definitely smaller than what our defense would get from replacing Harmon, Ryan or adding a good coverage LB.

Believe me Manx I would love to have him. It's very much the same situation as discussed with @mayoclinic back in the days of Gurley.

If he wasn't the bionic man and a proud member of the Tyreek Hill All stars, he would be a top 10 pick..

His physical profile and pre-injury skillet was special.

Taylor Moton checking a lot of boxes for me:
  • 6'5"HEIGHT
  • 34 1/8"ARM LENGTH
  • 319LBS.WEIGHT
  • 10 5/8"HANDS
  • 5.18 SEC
  • 23 REPS
  • 30.5 INCH
  • 109.0 INCH
  • 7.73 SEC
  • 4.58 SEC

Still like McDermott as an understudy to Solder:

  • 6'8"HEIGHT
  • 34 3/4"ARM LENGTH
  • 307LBS.WEIGHT
  • 11"HAND
  • 5.18 SEC
  • 28.5 INCH
  • 105.0 INCH
  • 7.52 SEC
  • 4.58 SEC

On the flip side, my boy Wheeler put up Xs in just about every box. Sad, but not totally surprising.

Also really like Nico Siragusa's numbers. Could be a surprise interior pickup:

  • 6'4"HEIGHT
  • 33 1/2"ARM LENGTH
  • 319LBS.WEIGHT
  • 10 5/8"HANDS
  • 5.35 SEC
  • 28 REPS
  • 32.0 INCH
  • 110.0 INCH
  • 7.71 SEC
  • 4.56 SEC

McDermott certainly ticks the right boxes numbers wise. VJ is a little off but not by much. Bolles and Dawkins seem to have won the day. Need to watch Dawkins. Anyone?

It's identical to Fournette.

Dawkins didn't seem that smooth when I watched his games, but you can see the starter traits. If we were more of a power scheme I'd say he would be way up on our board. He should be a long-term answer at guard for some team.

I'm going back and watching more Chris Carson. Talk about body beautiful. That kid is jacked. His jumping numbers were very good, too. He seems to have a very no-nonsense, smash-mouth approach to running the football. Love the way he lowers his shoulder into contact. Maybe a little Jordan Howard to his game? He's definitely not an every down guy, but could offer competition to Bolden and an aging Blount.

Damian Mama might be the most hilarious player I have ever watched at the combine.

I said it earlier, but it bears repeating: Lamp is not getting out of the first round. I know we have a similar player with Thuney, but I wouldn't mind two of those guys. Shift one of them to center, and our line is really fantastic.

  • 6'4"HEIGHT
  • 32 1/4"ARM LENGTH
  • 309LBS.WEIGHT
  • 10 5/8"HANDS
  • 5.00 SEC
  • 34 REPS
  • 27.5 INCH
  • 111.0 INCH
  • 7.55 SEC
  • 4.62 SEC

Thuney, for comparison:

Height: 6045
Weight: 304
40 Yrd Dash: 4.95
20 Yrd Dash: 2.84
10 Yrd Dash: 1.71 225 Lb.
Bench Reps:
28
Vertical Jump: 28 1/2
Broad Jump: 09'02"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.54
3-Cone Drill: 7.47

Very, very disappointed in Dorian Johnson's 3-cone & shuttle results. So much for the possibility of his becoming a 4-position player here, including Swing Tackle.
And there is now no way that Dion Dawkins will be available at 64.

Any thoughts on corey levin? Very impressive cone time. Can he play tackle at the next level?
