Eddie Lacey, get him down to a manageable weight.

No.Look at him. He's done.

FWIW, Miguel figures NE will have about $31mil to play with after March.

Summarizing [Miguel's] Predictions:
Greg Scruggs – Re-signed
Mingo – Re-signed
James Develin – Re-signed
LeGarrette Blount – Signs elsewhere
Brandon Bolden – Re-signed
Michael Floyd – Re-signed after legal issues have been resolved
Duron Harmon – Signs elsewhere
Logan Ryan – Signs elsewhere
Chris Long – Either retires or re-signs
Alan Branch – Either retires or re-signs
Martellus Bennett – On odd-numbered days, I think that Martellus will be re-signed. On even-numbered days I think that he will leave.
Jabaal Sheard – Signs elsewhere
Dont’a Hightower – Tagged and then signed to a five-year deal right before the July 15 deadline.

9 of the 13 UFAs are re-signed for a total cap cost in March 2017 at around $31 million

Its actually 10 games a year. You appear to be missing that he didn't play all in 2016 due to a suspension and purple drank addiction.

Yeah, I was just talking about to injury. Seems like the top linebackers over, say, 27, take a beating...which might mean Hightower won't get the deal he wants from the Pats.

Ryan Clady just became a signable beast, since the Jets declined his option.

Without checking Clady is a tackle, correct? If so he isn't coming here for backup money.

Yeah I'm gonna say you're nuts on Lacey unless this is a bar game of "would you rather" and the alternative was Cagney, in which case, don't actually remember what she looked like. But Maryanne, not Ginger. As for the Pats...

Blount has proven himself worthy of a big offer, but let's see how high he's looking for - and whether he'll take properly compensated (not astronomically compensated) longevity with a winner rather than the gigantic payday.

He's had a taste of stupid at Pittsburgh... maybe he likes New England flavor (despite Miguel who knows freaking everything which makes these threads even harder).

That top picture must be fake. It just has to be.
Yeah, that looks like Photoshop. I know he gained weight, but it couldn't be that bad. How would be make the team?

It's really a shame. The guy was looking like Marshawn 2.0. And he was also looking to buck the trend of failed 'Bama RB's, though Ingram hasn't been terrible. How's Henry doing? I haven't followed him much.

490 yards, 4.5 ypc behind Murray, so not bad.

Blount is on the wrong side of 30 and teams aren't going to ignore his yards per carry. Unless you count possibly getting two years as a big offer then I expect you will be surprised at the lack of interest he generates. Lacey was great his first two years, maybe BB thinks he can unlock it again by keeping him away from the drive through

I agree on Blount. He definitely played his way out of a "big" contract with his playoff run. Teams maybe would have been willing to pay him more and for a longer term if he maybe had a big SB, let's say. But he was atrocious (really in all three games) and that fumble is considered one of the bigger momentum swings of the game, albeit early. So yeah, he probably won't get too much interest. That may well end up working in NE's favor. He loves it here, and he's one player where that definitely matters.

As far as Lacy, I just don't know if he's someone BB thinks is all about football. How long has it been since he's been really in shape? I know he did drop some weight, but he still looked slow. And he seems injury prone. Maybe I'm way off and BB brings him in. But, at least right now, he looks cooked.

Any contract with Eddie Lacey would need to have Jenny Craig in the language. Man's gotta Eat but Eddie getting ridiculous.:D That said when healthy and have his weight under control Lacey is a dual threat.

TE Trey Burton from Philadelphia. He can fill the Hernandez role (on the field....)
