OT: WFANs Mike Francesa thinks Romo to Denver is a done deal...

Denver with a good QB is a scary thought.

siemian stinks

this is a good move for the donkeys, let lynch sit watch for more 2 years

A QB with 11 seasons in the NFL and a record of 2-4 in playoff games. Sounds like a guy who should be playing for Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati.

I don't know about Romo.

Short term this would be the right move. You win now in Denver before the WRs and defensive players get too old or costly. Throw Romo in at QB and they're back to being a 12 win team.

Long term, I have my concerns. You're now putting Lynch in a situation in which he is learning behind his second coach, second offensive coordinator, and second starting QB. Suppose Romo gets hurt and/or declines, and the Broncos wind up going through another coaching change. That is poison to a young QB.

a) unless they seriously upgrade that o-line, it won't matter who is back there......without a complete overhaul, Romo would be lucky to survive pre-season behind them

b) this is good news if the Pats do in fact move Jimmy G - the best vet QB available off the market.....

It would make sense. Denver is a scary, scary team with a top-8 QB... so long as Romo can stay healthy.

Denver with a good QB is a scary thought.
You ****ies. :p

I'm not concerned nor intimidated by any team in the NFL thanks to Brady & Belichick. Nothing scares me about Denver. They're a good side attempting to become better. They're going to need to just to get out of the division.

You can't compare a TE like Gronk, with the contact he takes, including cheap shots at the knees, to a QB who, hopefully, gets hit a lot less.

Romo gets injured surprisingly easy conside how little he gets hit, especially behind that Dallas OL.
I can, because none of Gronk's 3 back surgeries had absolutely nothing to do with taking cheap shots, or even getting hit for that matter.

The same can be said for his hamstring issues, the infection in the arm, breaking it on an XP attempt, re-breaking it when he dove for a Brady overthrow, etc.

Sometimes players are injury prone. It happens. It certainly doesn't mean that another team wouldn't kiss the ground to have him play 12 games a season for them.

In 2014 & 2015, Romo was 15-4 as the starting QB of the Cowboys while other starters were 1-12. Over his career, he is 78-49 as a starting QB. The Broncos are built to win now, they just need a QB. Hell, they won with a gimp last year. This makes too much sense not to happen. Sure, he's an injury risk, but so is everyone. This is football.
The idea of playing him for a series vs. PHI on Sunday makes more sense if they were simply showing everyone that he looks normal again.

He's a fine choice for QB. As everyone has noted, the injuries are a big concern.

No question. WFAN makes EEI and Sports Hub look like UMASS student radio.
Respectfully, that's not a lofty accomplishment. I can't stand Francesa. When it comes to NE, he makes Felger, Tomase and Borges look like charter members of the Patriots fan club. Beningo and Roberts suck, also. Understand others disagree. Just my take.

Not really; he has actually won twice after all..... ;)

People here are overrating Denver.. let them have Romo..

Denver cant keep all there guys, I have no idea the contract situation for there defensive players or any of there team but adding 20mil to the cap is gonna hurt them. Plus Romo can't stay healthy, he is hurt every year.

If loathing everything New England with monotone distaste is your idea of gold standard knock yourself out. Francesca's like listening to an unfunny Steven Wright clone.

BB's press conferences have more pizzazz.

 Acknowledging that another team that already managed to win a SB just a year prior with no QB may be really good with a good one like romo isn't being a ****y. Its stating the obvious.

I'm born, raised in NH and live in MA but spent about 7 years during the week in the late 90s and early 2000s commuting to NYC for work. WFAN just grew on me.

I get the Francesa, Beningo, Roberts, Mad Dog hatred. I just like the format of the shows better. There just seems to be less ******** with those shows. IMO...

I think Stephen Wright is hilarious! So is BB.

I like Francesca. Can't explain it.

Except that's not what you said, is it @LightSkinSmurf. At this stage of his career, Romo is no better or worse than the Manning/Osweiler combination. You can also factor in that the Denver D is nowhere near as good as their Super Bowl winning D. So no, it's not stating the obvious.

Denver is a good team and they'll be a good team next season. How good, who knows how good the Patriots will be next season?
