I think we want them to be the three seed.. or out completely. Providing we get the one seed the three seed cannot play us in the Divisional Round (which I think is the most likely round the Pats could get upset at home, I don't think it will happen, but I would rather not draw the Steelers for our first Playoff game.)

If we have to play them the AFCCG would be better. Coming off a Division Round win at home with a trip to SB on line I don't see them losing that game. Also the Steelers would have to win 2 games one on the road to get there.

As the one seed the only team we can't play first is the 3 seed. SO if the Steelers get in that is how I want it to go, and the Ravens will be out most likely if that happens.

Even though the Pats have had their way with the Steelers of late, they are the only AFC team that I think seriously threatens the Pats road to a spot in the SB. So, 3rd seed, or preferably out, works best as far as I am concerned.

when are people going to realize the steelers are petrified to play New England? Brady is there daddy and we have owned them for the past 15 years
I really don't understand this logic..each year a team's roster is different. Success in the past against a certain organization does not mean it will continue...new rosters, new coaches, ect. The Steelers, IMO have the best chance of beating the Pats of any of the AFC contenders. Having said that, the harsher the weather conditions the better for the Pats.

That isn't the entire story. Organizations, particularly ones with strong continuity such as the Steelers, have an identity and a style of play. The Steelers happen to match up pretty well with the Pats. They're still playing basically **** LeBeau's defense, and Brady eats that up.

The Steelers' offense hasn't been very good on the road this year. They've got a defense that we should be able to shred without any problem. They have Tomlin as their head coach.

This is not a team I'm concerned about at all.

The only things I care about, in order of importance, are:

1) Securing the #1 seed
2) Resting our starters (especially Bennet)
3) Eliminating our nemeses - DEN and BAL - from winning the #6 seed....simply out of pure pettiness

Not that any of these are mutually-exclusive .....but you get my point

No matter how you look at it, the Steelers will have to come here. Of course, if both teams make it that far. The Steelers are a very good team, but right now so are the Raiders and the Chiefs. We have many strong opponents we are going to face in the playoffs. We can only hope to remain healyhy
Who you got? I think Pitt rolls at home!
I think it could go either way. But if Pitts takes a page out of the Pats play book, then I think the Ravens are in for a long game.

Number 3 is my favorite. Simply out of pure pettiness...lmao

You know when I first read this post. I thought "How are they the 3 seed when the Chiefs have the better record?" Then I realized, the Chiefs are in the same division as the Raiders..lol Ah, my mind is slipping.

How does the playoff schedule work?

3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5? Then 1 plays the winner of the 4th and 5th seed and 2 plays the winner 3rd and 4th?

After the WC round (4 vs 5, and 3 vs 6), the lowest seeded team remaining plays the highest seeded team remaining.

Doesn't matter much to me as a fan, but if I had to choose I'd send PIT across the country to OAK and have KC or whomever come here, that works.

I do think the Steelers are probably the 2nd best team in the AFC regardless of their record. And certainly the 2nd most playoff tested too.
