When players use the "I didn't know what I was taking" excuse I actually tend to believe that more often than not. But I know if I'm an NFL player paid millions to do a job I love, I will do whatever it takes to protect that job and if part of it requires taking care to do diligence on each and every single thing I ingest so I am 100% certain that I am not ingesting a banned substance then so be it. Seems like it's a job requirement like you'd see with any other kind of employment.

Amazes me how many NFL players are still careless about that stuff and that goes for Nink too.

I think part of the issue, especially with older guys, is that the old advantages of youth start to fade and panic sets in. They start looking around for some sort of new stack to try and maintain that youthful edge, and that's when they're most open to suggestion...and impulsiveness.

EDIT - Ask me how I know...I turned 35 last year, and hit that wall. My body just doesn't respond to recovery the way it used to. I can still smoke those 18 year olds at PT for a little while, but ask me to cobble together several days in a row, and the age shows.

Makes you wonder if the 85 Bears cheated too.

Heh I already feel like my body has quit at 24.

Heh, just wait...28 is great too...it's when you find out that one night of drinking equals 2-3 days of recovery

Same ole, same ole. Another athlete gets caught and probably said he didn't know. Nothing to see here.

what till you hit 47 like me and get diagnosed with diabetes. I've been able to out lift 99% people at the gym my entire life but now see my lifts falling due to age and injuries.

Do you actually believe them when they say that? I don't. I think they know exactly what they are taking in almost all cases.

I actually respect the guys that admit to PED's or at least don't deny it because I can understand why they would take them, given the amount of money they have a chance at for a short period of time and never again.

I'd love to test the vaunted Steel Curtain...

I agree in a general sense, but Jeffery is only 26. Seems a bit early in his career to be turning to PEDs in order to offset the effects of aging. IMO it's more likely he's just been taking PEDs either all along or to help recover from the array of injuries he's had throughout his career.

Yikes not looking forward to that. I can eat my way out of any hangover.

pff these young'ens

I hit that at 40

True...wish I could have agreed and rated funny on this one.
That's always the best way to attack it. The hangover disappears quickly and you're pretty much hammered within a couple of them because you're just replenishing the night before.

You clearly weren't drinking hard enough

I've heard the ol' Bloody Mary trick; having one when you wake up. Never really did it, though...I'll try to chug water before I sleep, but you know what they say about the road to hell and all...

That's how I discovered my love of donuts...
