OK, Now we need Oakland to lose some games

Raiders are 5-0 on the road. You may be better facing them in Oakland in the playoffs if it gets to that point.

I think the league just likes to keep the "we'll move your franchise to Vegas" threat in their back pocket to better extort cities for more $$$ from time to time. God, I hate them so much.

Yea thats my thinking as well. Its posturing.

SF/OAK/San Jose is the 6th largest TV market in the country.

Las Vegas is 42nd.

Mark Davis has pledged $500m towards a new stadium in LV. It is unknown how sincere he actually is

I hope they stay in OAK but they really do need a new stadium. I was just there 2 weeks ago and it does look like a dump.

You know, it's just so cool watching the NFL revolve, where every year or two it's a different team competing with the Pats for AFC supremacy. Been a long time, but Oakland's turn has come back around.
And yet the Pats are still in the upper tier.
Normally during the bye week I'm looking to see which games have impact on the Pats - and none really did this weekend. Amazing.

I actually hope oakland keeps it up. I dont want to win the first seed too early, seen this play out too many times. Hottest team in december usually has most success the following month

Could not agree more!

Pats just gotta take care of business. If the Pats go 14-2 or 13-3 it should all work itself out. 12-4 and now you might need to play the tie breaker game and worry a bit.

Please Please PLEASE have Oakland face New England in the post-season! Heck, I wouldn't mind if the game was in Oakland because I would make the short drive and go.

Gronk and Brady would be licking their chops at facing those safeties the Raiders throw out there.

Regards,
Chris

Especially now that they don't have LA as a looming threat for every taxpayer funding negotiation. They need a new threat to beat the 31 NFL cities over the head with. St. Louis and Las Vegas are no Los Angeles, but they'll have to do for the NFL's purposes.

I have no doubt the Pats could go into Oakland and win a playoff game. I have no doubt that Patriots will go into Denver in a playoff game and lose. The key is a better record than Denver, period....

And KC. Don't feel good about Arrowhead either though it'd be better than Mile High.

You think the Pats are gonna lose 3 of the next 8 games?

Also, look at the schedule from 12/12 to 12/24. We have 3 games over the course of 12 days with a flight to Denver in the middle.
12/12 (Monday) Baltimore
12/18 @denver
12/24 Jets.

I don't care how much better we are than the Broncos or the Jets, that's one tough stretch!

I am not scared of Oakland, but they are easily the 2nd best team in the AFC (obvious by their 7-1 record)

Their secondary is still terrible and Tom Brady would pick them apart.

I am more scared of Denver, as awful as they looked. They have the kryptonite to beat us, especially if we have to travel there. If you told me we have to play on the road in the AFC Championship in either Denver or Oakland, I take Oakland with zero hesitation. If you told me it has to home vs. Denver or on the road vs. Oakland, I'm still taking Oakland. It's simply a great matchup for us.

It's not about who is the better/best team, See SB 42, etc.
It IS about matchups.
For some reason, Denver matched up well against Pats O and D historically.

Unknown how the very different 2016 versions of these 2 teams match up.

Tell me again how we got beat by 3 TD's last year in Denver. Talk about being in someone's head.

Last season a crippled team went to Denver and was a missed extra point from taking the game to overtime and people make the Broncos sound like the 85 Bears and we are Browns. GET a grip guys.

Denver is a great defensive team, but they aren't invincible. Far from it. They fact that game was so competitive should have proven that to us. Instead this last page makes it seem like if we don't have home field advantage throughout, it's a death knell to ANY chance of the Pats winning the Superbowl. BULL SH!T.

That being said, we are well set up thus far to get home field advantage, but STILL.....this is the kind of pathetic whining that belongs on a Jet site

BB who said "It's all about matchups" a Jets fan whiner? Harsh!
It was less about your post. It is ALWAYS about the match ups in EVERY game.

I was just ranting about my perception of the last page of this thread and the posts that opine that if he we had to go to Denver for a playoff game, it would be the end....period. You and I both know that is crap.

Sometimes I just get annoyed with what I perceive as some fans just kvelling like old yentas at every potential bump in the road..,..or other words like Jet fans,

The bottom line is we can probably lose 2-3 more games and still get the #1 seed. I like our chances against anyone as long as we have HFA.

2 should be enough I think 3 is plenty........ they aren't exactly the 85' Bears

So has Oakland become the new team to fear on the board amongst the negative nancy's now given that they beat Denver last night?

I predict Oakland will end the season at 12-4 and the Donkeys 11-5. Playing at KC is tough and San Diego is unpredictable. I see the Pats going 14-2.. with a loss coming most likely at Miami or Denver. I doubt they will go 15-1 because they will probably save players the last game of the season if they have everything locked up. But Jimmy G could win us a game... so 15-1 is possible. This goes without saying but I knock on wood as far as injuries.
