BTW, I really don't get why people are ****ting on the defense. The defense didn't commit two turnovers on the Patriots side of the field. The defense wasn't the side of the ball dropping 3rd down passes from Brady, either.
The defense also contributed to winning the football game.

Don't agree here....the D was shaky and lucky at best. If Rottenburger was in there this game....we lose.

The defensive game plan with Ben in the game would have been COMPLETELY DIFFERENT , so how can you think that?

But but but the "eye test"

DHB made a great catch. The coverage was there.

As was the coverage on the majority of catches that Ryan gave up but there it is a different story for whatever reason.

I am not a Logan Ryan fan and don't really want us to extend him because I think his level of play is not worth the FA market dollars he will be offered but I just can't comprehend why people here are so obsessed with him. In essence it is the Chandler Jones situation just on a lower skill tier. A good player on a rookie contract but overpaid on a market contract.

So the NFL* unfairly deprives the Pats of the GOAT for the first 4 games, and the Pats are relatively healthy, are 6-1 with a 2 game lead in the AFC East, have the tie-breakers over Houston and Pittsburgh, and are a game ahead of Denver who looks like they will lose more games since their QB has been exposed.

Yet we have Pats fans complaining.

6-1 and a chance to put the division away next week? Unless we have injuries again this season, I am confident the AFCCG will be played in Tom Brady's house. By the way, 6 straight CCG will be a new NFL record #awwwwwwww yeaaaaah

Defense Sucks crew really reaching for something to grab on to.

Standings and points are for losers. "Eye tests" are for winners

So we are just ignoring that Rowe wasn't any better ? Great..

I thought he was better. Gave up the 1 TD but that's all I remember from him. Ryan gave up 2 or 3 of the 5 3rd down conversions the steelers got.

Vollmer's done after this year. If they think Solder could move to the right side, making the deal (try to get back a low round pick in return for that second) isn't a terrible idea.

If you want to keep High, Collins, Butler, Bennett and some good DE long term and have some depth it actually is a terrible idea. You cannot have 6 guys making 10M+ (plus QB at 20M+ cap) and have a solid, well rounded, deep roster.

PS
I really doubt BB would go for it. He brought back Dante and T position looks ok at the moment.
On the other hand who knows who of the coveted big FAs will want to stay on BBs financial terms.

I love posts like these because it highlights the bizarro world some people live in.

We, as a collective fanbase, would have sucked a million ****s to have a CB of his caliber in the dark times between Samuel and Talib.

Yep.

I predict Ryan will fetch a 4/$20m/$8m guarantees deal from someone. Hes a serviceable #2 CB. Nothing more.

Rowe has more upside.

We'll see how it all shakes out.

If you're saying that there is nothing to complain about in this post-game thread, you're out of your mind. This is a post-game thread, not a state-of-the-AFC-as-of-this-exact-second thread.

People will go over the top. They always do. But there's plenty of ammo for them this week, and that's fair game in a post-game thread.

we will need to invest on a good pass rusher in the first round

And what from BB's drafting history shows that he'll invest such a high pick in a "pure pass rusher"?

He gets pass rushers in later rounds and via mid-round pick trades (such as Sheard, Vrabel). Now he will draft MULTI-talented DL with 1st round picks, but they have to do a lot well not just rush the passer.

Landry didn't even get an 80 QB passer rating. So regarding the defense...there's that.

You know ...you are right overall....but with this high octane offense (especially the Gronk /Bennett combo).....and what was SUPPOSED to be us having one of the best defenses in the league per nearly all preseason analysts

They just held one of the best offenses in the league to 16 points for Pete's Sake! We won the game in spite of 2 big turnovers! I get the frustration of their giving up big plays on 3rd and long but they're doing a pretty decent job keeping the other guys out of the endzone. Steelers only scored 1 TD!

Rowe gave up the second TD that was called back because of the OL. It's not on that stat sheet but the play still happened. My point is not that Rowe is a bad player but only put Ryan's performance in contrast. He is not great but also not the garbage player that certain posters trying to make him.
