(Fill in the blank)

I would say the quality of depth behind our cornerbacks might be a bit of a concern. If Logan Ryan or Butler went down (god forbid) would you be comfortable letting Rowe, Coleman, Cyrus Jones, or Jonathan Jones stepping into the #1 or #2?

On a positive note, Eric Rowe made a nice debut yesterday, and Justine Coleman plays with a lot of competitiveness. It's really the rookies that concern me the most.

You can also add running back as an area of concern. Blont has been great this season, but is there an, every-down, between the tackles running back who can step in and replace him?

At this point no one area over concerns me but the top areas are OT and CB.

Flemming has played well in spots but it would likely not be sustainable for 4-6 weeks if either Solder/Cannon go down.

Likewise though i say things i like from Rowe if Butler/Ryan goes down i will not feel very confident in the depth as clearly you need Butler to be the #1 and Ryan to be the #2 for the D to work well most of the time. Sometimes Ryan is shaky on certain match ups and days but overall he is pretty good. I don't trust Coleman/Jones(s) to be a good #2.

Also those 2 spots are particularly concerning cause they play on an island somewhat.

My first thought was linebacker depth. Our two studs (Hightower and Collins) have already missed at least 1 game and we're only 6 games into the season. Their depth issues haven't presented a problem yet but could down the line. It is good to have someone like Ninko who is versatile.

Oddly, thinking about this question is making me feel more confident, not less!

At the start of the season OT would have been the obvious answer, but Cannon has played better than I expected, Fleming has proven a surprisingly decent backup, and there's still the possibility of Vollmer returning.

At CB, it's something of a luxury to be fretting over a depth chart of Butler, Ryan, Rowe, Coleman, Jones & Jones.

Top to bottom, this looks like an uncommonly solid roster to me.

Are you getting paid by the thread?

Exactly. This is as deep roster as it can possibly be under the rules.

With no major injuries and many fresh additions (coming in week by week) .. comparing to other rosters this one seems almost unfair. So much insurance even for top guys like Brady, Gronk, High/Coll, Butler, Edelman. With Roberts, Rowe, Flemming, Hamilton, also Mingo emerging and Lewis and Jackson waiting to add to the depth this is getting just ridiculous. Many teams are already picking starters from the street and we have the luxury to have an almost exclusive top ST squad on the roster.

You are questioning the depth of CB and RB position - but when the question of who gets cut comes (maybe already this week for Lewis and Tre) you'll be the first to hesitate to let anyone go and later regret the cuts 'cause they might not be to your expectations or liking ..

I think that may be the deepest position on the team.
Coleman was the starting nickel on a good D last year and cant even get active.
Cyrus Jones is going to be a good NFL corner.
Rowe is talented.
J Jones has gotten on the field ahead of some of these guys as well.

I don't think we have ever been this deep at corner.

QB - I don't trust Jimmy anymore either he's to soft or to concerned with where he will be playing next. Either one is concerning.

How many picks we get for Jimmy G.

Pass-Rusher is the only true legit problem I think we have. Both inside and Outside. I feel as if we can only get good pressure when our LBs rush.

O-line is unreliable. I think Mason is easily replaceable. But they are deep enough

CBs is okay. Butler is very good and although we dont have a clear cut number 2, all 3 options are serviceable, depending of the match up

You're absolutely right, it is DEEP. It's the quality at CB that concerns me. But you're right. There's many reasons to be happy about our depth chart, even behind Ryan and Butler.

You worried about depth at running back?

There WERE 2 areas of concern at the beginning of the season and that was LB depth and CB depth after Ryan and Butler. The emergence of Roberts helps the former as well as having Mingo get snaps (I wonder how he did getting his first regular D snaps). I think we will be OK at CB as well with Coleman, Jones, and Rowe now getting snaps.

So now the depth issue falls to the OL who are carrying only 8 guys at the moment. That should be filled within the next few games with Tre Jackson returning and hopefully Seb Volmer. If not we seem to have a plethora of OLmen on the PS.

So right now, depth seems like it is NOT an issue for the Pats. Whenever there seems to be a problem, the Pats are prepared, either through the PS or recovery from injuries, to fill the bill. When we were thin at DT, BB just went to the PS and both Hamilton first and then Johnson came in and filled in nicely.

You could make a case that Blount is the one man on the roster without a backup. (Though come to think of it, I wonder who our backup center is?) The good news is that a power back is the closest thing to a plug-and-play position that there is -- and I'm not sure there's anyone on the roster I'd sacrifice to carry an extra power back who would be a weekly inactive.

Pass-rush always seems to be the problem for us. So I would put that at the top of the list. But Gostkowski is starting to worry me a little, consistently will miss just about a kick a game yesterday being an extra point. He just doesn't seem to be himself. Should we get more depth in the kicker position absolutely not that would be a waste of a roster spot but I thought I would throw it out there.

The only thing I'm concerned about is Roger Goodell skipping our guaranteed SB celebration this season. I want him there to hand the trophy to Brady and I want to see Brady flip him off on national TV.

Place kicker. Gostkowski has been incredible on kickoffs, but a few missed FG this year (uncharacteristic) and a missed XP vs the Bengals (wtf?!)

The team has a lot of heart and discipline and chemistry. Very deep. Even our Practice Squadders have skills.
