I have very little confidence that CLE knew what they hell they were doing with him.
Be better than that. 7 sacks in 3 seasons isn't all about misuse.

FO turnover. Coaching turnover. Different systems. Different schemes. Ownership can't get its head out of its ass.
As of right now Mingo is a major bust but that franchise has not done the kid any favors.
I think he does have decent pass rush skills. What I also think is that they totally have been screwing with his development.
Yet, somehow, other players in Cleveland have been able to perform at a higher level. How is that possible?
They do have a 4th next year. Acquired it and a 2016 7th rounder (used on Devin Lucien) from the Seahawks for a 2016 5th rounder and a 2016 7th rounder. The Patriots get to retain the worse of the 4th round picks, their own or Seattle's.
Ask Jabaal Sheard.
Sometimes orgs and players don't fit each other.
The fact that in the game he played he was playing LB? The on field evidence trumps your belief. McClellin worked at DE early in camp, just like Nink worked at LB, but its not where he will play. What information do you have that trumps on field evidence?
Nothing backs this up. Nink was playing LB early in camp because he would play there in an emergency. BB has done that often.Seems like Shea McClellin isn't working out so well as the 3rd LB. Ninko was getting more reps at this position than Shea, most likely out of necessity. Can't fault Ninko or the coaching staff for flexing his position versatility, but its hard to imagine him dropping back into coverage effectively. Plus, the injuries to him and Freeney might be lingering longer than expected.
injuries may have something to do with it. in 2014, he suffered a torn labrum in the opening game versus pittsburgh, but he only missed one game. he had surgery to repair it after the season was over. last year, he had surgery to repair a torn meniscus one month before the season started, yet he didn't miss a single game. probably safe to say he wasn't playing fully healthy.Yet, somehow, other players in Cleveland have been able to perform at a higher level. Sheard sack totals/games:
8.5/16
7/16
5.5/13
2/5
8/13
Where's the outrageously unbelievable jump? It's all in understandable and reasonable difference ratios.
In 2014 and and 2013 he spent more time in coverage, was hurt and not getting after the QB.
Just like Mingo.
To your point, unlike Mingo the difference here is that Sheard at least produced at this level.
With that said Paul Kruger didnt do **** last year either when the previous year he did pretty well.
That whole organization needs Prozac
