I'm not going lie, I am so honored and thankful I can live my youth and life in general watching the two GOATS taking command of the field. Winning is great, but witnessing greatness and seeing Tom Brady and BB succeed has made amazing and will continue to make memories for me.

I won't lie (again), its scary. I'm only 23 and barring an accident, should live to see my Patriots in the 2060s and maybe even 2070s. 2080s is still plausible. Though, its scary to know Brady won't be there. My NE hero.

Thank you Brady. Thank you for the memories I can one day tell my grandchildren.

So, how about you guys?

Seeing BB and Brady is certainly tale worthy, but no--I wouldn't feel any worse for those who missed out than our predecessors did for some of us having missed out on Mantle, Ruth, Chamberlin, etc.

One more SB title (which should already be ours factoring in the 2 NYG losses, last year's missed XP by Gost, and the 2006 AFCCG debacle at Indy) and Brady solidifies his status as the greatest QB to play the game--without room for opposing arguments.

Do not feel bad at all. Do you feel bad for all us fans who had to endure the insufferable years when the Pats were inept???

Funny story comes to mind, growing up and honing by Pats Fanness would always wait for the JC Penney Christmas Catalog and Sears "Christmas Wish Book".. when I got them would turn to sports memorabilia section to see if they had any Pats stuff. Of course they didn't, you would turn to that section and there would be Dallas, SF, NYG, NJY, Chicago, GB etc. but never any Pats stuff. The first Pats t-shirt I ever got was a "squish the fish" one in 1985.....

Do I feel bad no, but I hope that this franchise remains as viable in the future as it is now..

Luckily for me I had my kids at the beginning of the Brady/BB era.

So years from now we will be able to sit around and talk about all the championships we've experienced from the local teams.

We will also be able to discuss Goodell's assassination and how someone stole his shoes and urinated on his expensive suit.

Of course we will occasionally visit Joker in his prison cell and thank him for his contribution to humanity and Patriots nation.

I was 18 when TB won his first so yeah my college years were pretty good. And the fun hasn't stopped. I'll certainly be the old guy telling tales of these guys to my nieces and nephews the way my grandfather would talk about the impossible dream or the 76 Pats.
I guess I'll feel bad they missed it but I will really feel bad about how many times I'll tell them about his greatness. And how many times I'll make them sit through the videos.
It's already what I use with them for bed time stories if I babysit.

I feel bad for people who were not there BEFORE the TB12 era. You missed driving to Foxboro and getting tickets on the day of the game. Cheap beer too! There were times when every win was like the Superbowl. There were a lot of great players and a few good seasons before Brady was drafted. For US, Parcells and Bledsoe was awesome. After Superbowl XXXI we got to hate Parcells and the Jets. We watched 2001 through different eyes -- with a little skepticism.

At some point our real logo and uniforms will be restored, so that we may finally once again be able to turn on the TV and say, "Why, I know them, that's the New England Patriots, I've rooted for them since the sixties, I'm proud they represent us, lots of fond memories..."

If I try to introduce my grandchildren to the run to start this century, they'll say, "They really wore those? With that logo? ... No, Grampa, we're not laughing, honest..."

I won't feel bad at all for future fans. I sat there during the 1-15 season. The Patriots will almost certainly never see this kind of year-in, year-out dominance like they have during this golden age, but after they are bad, they'll be good again.

One thing is for sure: I very much appreciate what they've given us since 2001. It really has been remarkable in every way.

every way? The 'Boys were 1-15 with Jimmy (Joke) Johnson and Jerry (Bigger Joke) Jones, but still managed not to wreck their logo and uniforms, so their fans got to see their team win...

It was like that for my buddies and I back in the late 80s and early 90s.

$22 tix/ea
$40 2 cases of beer
$25 full tank of gas
$10 parking
$20 food

Being in my mid 40s I could have done without the bad times but that makes me appreciate the last 16 or so years even more.

I'm a diehard Texas Longhorns fan. I have been most of my life. And I also love their uniforms. Those away whites are great, just love the simplicity, and like other historically great programs like Michigan, Bama, USC, Ohio State and others, the uniforms have a great history.

But let's say Charlie Strong and the top UT brass decide to make a change and go with a new uniform design. And then let's say they dominate college football for the next 23 years, winning mulitple national titles, countless conference titles and simply win more than any other team during that span.

After 23 years of unrivaled success, if I just can't enjoy it because of a uniform change, anyone that reads this has my permission to kick me in the nuts.

I'm not sure...Give me a moment to confer with ~ to text ~ the frozen slice of my Ass that tore off'f me when I arose, one day, from the frozen aluminum Stands a few Decades ago, after yet another depressing Fail on the way to yet another 2-14 Campaign, deep in the interminable Bowels of Patriots PreHistory...

Detached Frozen Slice of Ass says @#$%, no. We earned this, *****es.

Thank you for the post. I expect you pronounce our name Tex-is, as opposed to Tex-ain't. I grew up here in NE watching mostly pro sports, freezing - well, mostly my feet - at Harvard Stadium and Schaeffer, etc. Any time I saw another franchise ruin their uniforms, to me it was clearly a bush league, gimmick move to try and get the attention of disinterested fans, and stomp all over whatever history they had with players, etc. Here's a post from the Patriots' own web site:

I live in Texas and I'm a Cowboy fan, but I was a fan of Pat the Patriot as well. After 1993 when flying Elvis took the team over my Patriot fandom ceased. The Patriots had the best uniform in all the NFL and I guess Kraft ruined them. Long live Pat the Patriot!!

As for myself, my grampa on my mom's side was born in Dallas and went to UT (Hook 'em, Horns!) On my Dad's side, my great, great, great uncle died at the Alamo. Now, I've always been a Patriots fan, win or lose, but there are lots of folks I loved too, including O.A. "Bum" Phillips. After the Oilers beat the Cowboys, he said, "Dallas may be America's team, but Houston is Texas' team. And that's better."

So, let's agree to disagree about the uniforms and what it means if the team happens to win wearing them.

And since you're one of the good guys, you have permission to take a shot at me any time. I might just happen to put something extra on under my pants first, if that's okay.

Youth is wasted on the young.

I remember when home games weren't on TV and I had to listen on the radio. And I clearly remember the lines at the pay phones at the stadium as guys called in their bets!
But as bad as the Pats were in the 80s, we had the Celtics dominating and the Bruins were a very good team as well. It's not as though we had nothing back then. Plus we had Flutie at BC and they were a damn good team as well.
My son is lucky (he's 11). He knows nothing but dominant Pats teams and lots of titles for our teams...
