Cre'Von LeBlanc's tape

I'll say this much: LeBlanc may be the best 7th CB the Pats have ever fielded. (Oh, for a few of these guys back in the Earthwind Moreland days!)

I was thinking the same, in terms of having one, maybe even two solid PS candidates that may end up developing throughout this season and/or next.

I still think they should try LeBlanc at safety.

He did participate in a group sexual assault in high school. He seems to be straightened out.

Well, that's a bummer. Looked into it more and the story heavily implies cover-up. Don't think he was ever really forced to take responsibility, could easily not regret it. Damn.

He does seem to have the skill set for it, if not the frame (185 lbs!) But there's a pleasant logjam at S too -- McCourty, Chung, Harmon, Richards + a ST specialist seems like one of the most settled positions on the team. And that still leaves either King or Ebner plus Vereen scratching for a spot.

Unless Ebner shows up completely out of football shape, his roster spot is almost as secure as Gostkowski's.

soundtrack to his tape...

And he shall be Cre' Von
And he shall be a good man
And he shall be Cre'Von
In tradition with the family plan
And he shall be Cre'Von...
And he shall be a good man
He shall be Cre'Von

Going to hate watching the guys who dont make it here get snatched off waivers.
Still say trade players dont cut them outright

After last night's game, it would be impossible to sneak Lebanc through waivers and on to the practice squad, so if the Patriots want him, they are going to have to make some painful cuts.

Nah this years "boston flu" havn't hit yet, more then a few they have to IR-stash

How many undrafted rookie free agent cuts are picked up? Coleman was one last season, but not until the Patriots reluctantly had to give him a roster spot. If Leblanc flashes a couple of more times, maybe, but impossible to go through waivers after one great play? I don't remember reading about him much so far at training camp.

I must admit. I was slow to get on this train. But I like this kid. Super raw but i like the way he plays. I doubt he passes through as is. IF you pay him a large practice squad contract you have a chance. I would be willing to do that and hope they will. I just don't believe Ryan will be hear next year and you never can have enough promising guys in the pipe line.

I want to sign as many as possible cause i know how easily after this year the Pats could go on a 3-4 year CB drought.

Just maybeeeee he can be our poor mans Honey Badger. lol, his hard style of play for his size reminds me a little of mathieu. After all, they did/do have very similar miserables except for their 40 times, which Leblanc clearly plays faster then.
lol you never know. Might allow us to trade Harmon

Cre'von Leblanc
5'9 196lbs
40-yard dash: 4.65 seconds
Vertical: 34 inches
Broad jump: 9 feet, 6 inches
Short shuttle: 4.16 seconds
3-cone: 6.91 seconds

Tyran Mathieu
5'9 186 lbs
40-yard dash: 4.50 seconds
Vertical: 34 inches
Broad jump: 9 feet, 8 inches
Short shuttle: 4.14 seconds
3-cone: 6.87 seconds

So ends Leblanc's journey with the Patriots (he was picked up by Chicago). It was a near thing and I have to wonder if his hip injury was the reason he was cut. Good player, but not quite good enough to penetrate a stacked defense.
