Vick Indicted!

It IS interesting than many SA and Carribean countries did execute treaties with the US in the 90s though, making mostly less attractive havens the only ones left for rich financiers and other fugitives from the law.

As far as I know there is no extradition treaty with Greece, so if he goes there he can hide out as Michaelangelo Vickopoulos.

Nor is there an extradition treaty with Cuba though I really wouldn't want to vacation or live there under current political conditions.
There is an escaped cop killer who has been hiding out in Cuba evading extradition for about 20 years....

picture the trial. Vick testifying...along with Arthur Blank and Goodell. That would be some prosecution witness list (pft)

What will the league do? Is Goodell's bark worse than his bite?

Schefter reports no immediate suspension will be handed out

Read the indictment and THEN tell us what you think. After you've lost your lunch, that is. The more I think about it, there is no way Vick plays this year. Every stadium he enters will be full of people hoisting signs and going crazy, it will be a sideshow of the like we've not seen before. The league won't allow that sort of horrible PR to unfold.

* Indictments are just accusations. They aren't proof. Rarely does a prosecutor not get an indictment no matter what the evidence. Not only have many here convicted him already, they already have him skipping the country -:) Let the legal system play out. I think the indictment is gruesome too, but it's not proof of anything. Even some eho get found guilty get out of jail 10-15 years later because DNA shows it wasn't them.

Speaking from personal experience?

If you've read the indictment, you'll find that there are 4 cooperating witnesses who corroborate what the Feds have uncovered. True, it is only an accusation but the physical evidence ( dog carcasses, blood on the walls, rape stand) along with the witnesses makes for compelling evidence that would lead a reasonable person to think that there is a solid case to date.
As for the DNA , I don't think it will work in this case........

* Solid case, but he's not convicted

* Like you didn't know I didn't post that concerning Vick

This is depressing.
First we get Vick on dog fights.
And now, Tom Brady is in the middle of a catfight.
Please make it stop.

Kind of a OJ quote

" if the condcut policy is legit, then Vick must sit"

I just think Mike Vick is a thug, and a hood.. No place in society for his dog abuse.. I would lose alot of respect for the NFL, if Vick is allowed to play football this yr...

I agree totally with Vick needing to sit...it is THAT simple..if it had been a charge of a one time involvement or possibly being at a dog fight..one COULD understand the NFL's wait and see...BUT..given that this DID take place at Vick's house and that there were dogs, voth dead and alive found ON the property AND that Vick lied to the Commish, I think the NFL is making a BIG mistake in not suspending him.

I believe they said at this time. The season doesn't start for several weeks. Lots can happen to change their decision between now and then. The team could suspend him or better yet cut ties with him (the management council is said to be looking into the cap ramifications of Atlanta cutting him loose) or he could agree to some sort of LOA to deal with his impending trial should his lawyers find out they can't stall the proceedings into 2008. Crowds in Atlanta not to mention on the road could become so abusive he just quits! Give it time - he's barely been indicted and hasn't even been arraigned yet!

I've sent an email and called NFL Public Relations. I also called Nike. I was pleased to hear Nike at least suspended the release of this scum's shoe which was scheduled for August. They just did that today....this morning they said they would release it as planned.

Whether it works or not, I at least feel like I've done something, however small.

The Greeks would love that. Then they can conscript him!

I get the feeling Vick's going to burn for this one, and they're not going to delay sentencing until after the season, either.
