RUMOR: Revis "to hit the market?"

My opinion is that he might be a bit soft and not the same type of competitor as a Brady or Dion or hell even a Sherman who took a deal that isn't as guaranteed as it looks to stay with a winning team. He got owned by Steve Smith against the Ravens and didn't even bother competing after the ref picked him for a half second in the Super Bowl.

Striving for true greatness and back to back rings might not be what drives him, he might just have wanted a single ring to validate his career and go back to NY where he can be the star and get to vacation in January. Although, I think this past year may have changed him.

I hope I'm wrong and that he resigns, he is a great player and I loved having him here for this past year and thank him for his contribution to last years team.

He really doesn't care how he's viewed by fans. He is just doing what he wants as he should...he wants $$ sure leave. But again if he wants to he a legend...he will stay. It shouldn't be hard...but when McCourt said today that he was still unsure...not sure he wants to be a legend but that's hard to believe also...
I understand and completely agree. I just can't imagine, if things are close, he'd want to go back to the Jets where he doesn't have a chance to enhance his personal legacy. I think leaving the Patriots to go back to the Jets and to toil away the rest of his career really lessens his accomplishments on the Patriots. He made an impact, but no lasting impact. Brady and Gronk will be the guys remembered on that team and this era, and Revis will become a footnote (and a player that had to leave "his" team in order to even have the chance to get the ring). I don't know if Revis will agree with this assessment, but I sure hope he does.

Bother competing? Did you see the play? He can't run 90 mphq

If there were they would have leaked by now....his choice is jets and pats...just like it was last year
Perhaps some teams actually obey the rules and only tamper when it is legal to do so.

He immediately threw his hands up and started whining to the ref, he could keep running its the Super Bowl team down 3. But yeah I actually didn't even watch the super bowl and am clueless

legal tampering...oxymoronic?

Freevis countdown to Revi$

He was already beaten by 5 yards by the time he got past the ref..maybe more.

You see, this is the Internet, and there are a number of places somebody could go if they wanted to watch that play at this very moment. In fact, I'm doing so right now. That wasn't remotely immediate. He played until the ball was in the air, at which point it was evident to about 114 million people that he had no chance at affecting the play.

Well I guess its ok to stop trying when you're beat then once someones 1-2 yards ahead of you, I'm not saying he would've been close at the end but it just looks bad. My main point is that he might not be all about the rings as some here hope. If that's all he cared about he'd be signed already. Hope he comes around tomorrow.

?????

LA Lakers
Montreal Canadiens
NY Yankees
Miami Dolphins
Boston
Foxboro

So... 6 cities, minimum

Yes, you have a good historical perspective and include all FIVE cities recognized by Boston fans.

I suspect that many of the bandwagoners are not old enough to care about Miami. I suspect that they don't remember when NFL football was the #4 sport in Boston, or even the patriots before Kraft.

Some of that may be true but we really don't know, but he isn't soft.

good night everyone.

lets hope revis signs a new deal

I think your perspective is contradicted by first-hand accounts of his team orientation, level of individual effort, and willingness to teach his fellow players as espoused since tng camp last year by BB, DMac, 2 or 3 other cbs, TB, and of almost all the 2d-hand reports I recall from (believe it or not) the jesters board [they frequently stated he was me-first ONLY when it came to money, all-business all-time elsewise].

If they find a way to pay him without crippling team depth, I have no doubt he is good for at least two years of solid EFFORTFUL play, barring injury.

Please, please just stop.

Revis came here on a huge paycut...he was offered well more than $12M even for one year. Your conclusions are absolutely insane and not even worth arguing much, except to say that Steve Smith finished with a grand total of three catches for 44 yards, a BS pi call, and a TD that Revis deflected- incredibly slippery receiver completely erased in the second half; you are nuts if you think Revis gave up on the play on Baldwin. Baldwin had one "catch" for three yards. Revis completely shut down the Colts passing game. I believe he allowed like five catches in three postseason games, with little safety help against number one receivers,

I'm sure your ultimate view of Revis will come down to whether or not he signs with your favorite team, which is ultimately what you are saying.

I wish more Pats fans could appreciate that Revis came here on a discounted deal and saved the team's legacy, regardless of where he chooses to go next.

If you were to use QB Win-Loss records for Revis, he would be 7-2 in the postseason with wins against Carson Palmer, Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Flacco, Andrew Luck, and Russell Wilson. Most of those wins were with Mark Sanchez at QB, which flipped would be like a QB winning those games with the league's 32nd ranked defense.
