I wanna have a stout run defense. I really hope they find a replacement for big vince.
Are you suggesting that we had a stout run defense in 2014?

I heard that too. Seems a bit bizarre though. You'd have to think O'Brien knows which one is the better. If he doesn't know now, he never will.
I expect they will announce a deal sometime today and Woody will call Kraft again and personally apologize to void him of the tampering charges for signing someonelse's player.
So....yeah. Why is NFL.com making post on facebook about teams clealy breaking the rules? These rules are so bogus.1. A team is allowed to submit a written summary of its negotiating position to agents for free agents still under contract with other teams, including length of contract, signing bonus, compensation, and related subjects.
2. A team is allowed to adjust its negotiating position based on the position presented by a player's agent.
3. While negotiations may occur, teams must say that they are not making offers.
4. Teams cannot execute contracts with free agents from other teams, submit a draft contract, enter into an express or implied agreement or make any promises about the terms that would be available once the free-agency period opens, or provide assurances of intent as to the future execution of a contract.
5. Teams also cannot discuss or make travel arrangements for a player to visit once the market opens, or to communicate directly with a player.
6. If a player has no agent, the team can't negotiate with the player at all.
7. The period applies only to looming unrestricted free agents; it doesn't include restricted free agents or players who have been tagged.
Yeah I'm honestly very confused on how teams are signing players. Here are the official legal tampering rules.

What's your take on Hughes, is he more a product of Buffalo's system and would fizzle out elsewhere or a legit really good player? I kinda get a Mark Anderson vibe from him. With Rodney Hudson reportedly getting $44M/5 years from the Raiders and Jerry Hughes getting $45M/5 years from Buffalo, McCourty's deal looks pretty solid.

Wow. Maybe I didn't watch enough of the Ravens but that seems like an awful lot for a guy who is good but nowhere near great. Why do I get the feeling this is going to end up like Ellerbe to the Dolphins?
Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome doesn't let the great ones get away. McPhee reminds us a lot of Adalius Thomas, Arthur Jones, Dannell Ellerbe, Paul Kruger, Jarrett Johnson and Bart Scott. They were all excellent Ravens defenders who played their best football in Baltimore. McPhee is versatile and intriguing, but he was a part-time player throughout his Ravens run. Even in his breakout 2014 season, McPhee played under 600 snaps. He's a fine pass rusher, but not every team will know how to use him. -- Gregg Rosenthal
McPhee, like Paul Kruger in 2013, was high on many people's lists of FAs most likely to get overpaid. For example:
