As of right now, we are the best team in the AFC. I think it's pretty unanimous and haven't heard one "media expert" say that the Broncos have upgraded more than the patriots; all believe that Pats have had the best FA period.

That being said, we need to follow it up with a GREAT draft. If we can repeat the last four drafts where we get 3 impact guys (2010: McCourty, Gronk, AH, Spikes 2011: Solder, Ridley, Vereen, Cannon 2012: Jones, Hightower, Dennard 2013: Collins, Dobson, Ryan) we will be sitting very pretty. Hopefully these players will fill the needs of interior OL, DL, and TE.

I think Steven King comes from there. When I see someone self-identifying as being from Maine I think of a guy in a yellow raincoat with a hook for one arm with rain pissing down behind him saying "Sometimes dead is bettah." I'm from Maine... a lot of Giants fans up there, since for years that was the closest NFL team. Maybe that has something to do with it... but I can tell you without a doubt that Maine Pats fans are as rabid a crew as any I've seen.

Who knows what it's worth, but if you follow the link, 29% have the Pats in the SB (8% have them winning it) and another 34% have them in but losing the AFCCG.

That means there are 32 teams in the NFL and 63% of some sort of sample across the country think the Pats will be one of the final four. That's pretty amazing actually and I suspect that if you multiply through the latest Vegas odds, it's not too far off what the money is saying.
