"That's for our defense," he said. "They're going to worry about all those guys, prepare for all those guys. And that's part of guys changing teams and so forth. It's nice to see a guy get an opportunity, especially one of your great friends."
Probably because Deion practiced against the Patriots defense for like seven seasons. Maybe Luck thinks he can let him know about some possible tendencies.Luck says "I will definitely pick his brain"...umm, why? Are the Colts going to adopt our offense for the game? Shouldn't he be picking Darius Butler's brain?
It would make more sense for Manusky to pick Branch's brain, wouldn't it?

You decide.
And if the Pats manage to win this game, THAT is exactly what the haters will all be saying. You forgot Masterful Sith Lord planting spy and confidante in enemy camp. That is my vote.

“Deion had a great career here — I think he was here for seven years or north thereof,” Belichick said. “Very smart, professional player. Great leader. One of the top guys we’ve had here in terms of off the field work ethic, leadership, intelligence, preparation, all those things. He had some very productive seasons here. He’s a tremendous person. He’s had a great career.”
You utterly fail to grasp the import that the Twig's signing is the most perfidious defection since General Benedict Arnold went over to the Brit Pats giving them Washington's plans for Monticello. OK, wrong president, but still, you get the idea. When he comes to Gillette we should all stand, turn around and give him the famous "Braveheart" display.
Alternatively, this couldn't be some dark, insidious machination by BB to use The Twig to insert a "virus" into the Colts game plan, could it?
Yup.My first reaction was "Meh". I don't get the whole loyalty angle. These are professional athletes playing in a cut-throat league where players are unmercifully cut in sometimes really unfortunate situations. Pats chose not to re-sign Branch this year. When injuries came around, they chose an oft-concussed player over him. Good for him to get a late paycheck and potentially one more playoff run.
Physically, he is close to done and will likely contribute little on Sat. If the signing fires up Brady, even a little, but allowing him to play against one of his best friends, even better.
Some posters take this stuff waaay too personally.
I had the same thought, but this offense is different from the offense that Deion played in. VERY Different. I doubt it will make a difference. It wouldn't surprise me if he isn't even active.

Yup.
I have no clue why Branch should have loyalty to a team that told him they don't want him any more.
Meatface! You have the second-best username on the board.
Yes Branch was hired for information, but hes also a pretty solid WR. IT was on purpose to get inside information about the PATs. But, most, support Goodell's thinking.
They want this to be a unpassionate buisness with no loyalites. So, its a very smart business decision by Branch. I dont fault him for making his bling bling. He served NE very well, and gave all he had. Why should Branch pass up $100,000's so Pats fans feel better?
hes not making 100,000
Brady says the politically correct thing, so his quote is meaningless. He has brand to protect that he is not going to jeopardize for to share his feelings about Branch.
I really don’t understand why anyone would feel compelled to defend Deion Branch, I mean listen I get it some people don’t have an issue with his decision that’s fine but what motivation could you possibly have to advocate on his behalf to the people who do take issue with it. He is not a Patriots player, he is actually our opponent on Sunday and you and others are spending your time defending him against your fellow fans of the Patriots. I don’t get it.
Go to a Colts forum and stick up for Branch, but aren’t we all fans of the same team and isn’t Branch now a member of the team that we’re facing and who stands between us and the conference championship game? Some of you seem a little mixed up or more interested in confrontation than the success of this team. Personally I don’t like whatl Branch did simply becaue there is a 1% chance that he could do or provide something that results in us losing the game, I do not want to lose the game and that is what matters to me, not defending a guy with $45 mil in career earnings that would not even acknowledge me if we were in the same room.
