Incognito suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

Not sure if anyone else was watching, but Shannon Sharpe gave one of the best arguments I've heard so far.

He said, if true, that African-American players allowed Incognito to use the n-word, then everyone of them should be ashamed. He states that Martin would have had no one to go to in terms of veteran leadership or even African-American leadership in that locker room.

I think that if those alleged reports turn out to be true then the Dolphins are in a world of hurt.
I didn't see it and maybe I misunderstood your comments, but is the argument that since the black players befriended a white guy that was unacceptable because a black man they didn't befriend needs them?

No, I am going to watch it and assess what I see, not decide before it happens that it will fit what I want it to.

So let me get this straight.
It is your opinion that you judging the interview before it happens is more open minded than me wanting to actually see it?
That is consistent with all the other posts you have clowned yourself with in this thread at least.

As Sports Illustrated reported:

"".....Last week on Fox NFL Sunday Glazer said "there's a lot more to the story with Jonathan Martin personally than meets the eye." He'll have unique insight here given Incognito was one of the players Glazer worked with in previous offseasons as part of Glazer's MMA training business. Fox Sports management has long been on record saying it trusts Glazer to remain objective when reporting on those he trains."

So yeah, Andy - -there is a difference between "open-minded" and "willingly naïve".

Good for Fox Sports in protecting their journalistic integrity - - - by at least drawing the line at not allowing Richie's DAD to conduct the interview!!!! :D

None of that has anything to do with deciding what happened in an interview before even seeing it.
How is wanting to see the interview naive? That is moronic.
Face it, you have lost any shred of objectivity on this subject.
Why not just admit it? You despise Incognito. He surely has given reason to. Why pretend you are honestly concerned with the facts?

But just to clarify.
You also believe that Glazer lacks the integrity to do an honest interview, and Fox knows this but has no concern that their reporters are phony?

Sharpe described it as the black players allowed Incognito to use the n-word and thus called him an "honorary black man."

Then when Martin was having the word directed at him, the other black players did nothing to suppress it.

Well, Incognito came across pretty reasonably in the interview.

We still don't know that Martin was not among the group that considered Incognito an 'honorary black man'.
That is one of the things that still has not been communicated. What exactly were the issues that Martin had with Incognito, other teammates, coaches, etc.

Fox football guys are suprisingly on Incognito's side.
Jimmy Johnson basically said Martin left because he was failing and scapegoated Incognito. Thats quite a leap.
I think it was Bradshaw, who said we need to hear from Martin then figure it out, which of course is the correct approach.

JJ was a little overboard on that.

RI did show poor leadership in not turning it off. Even football players need some soft skills every now and then.

Here's a guy from an ultra high achievement family who has probably never known any type of failure......now he is experiencing it and his best friend isn't turning it down.

I'm aware of that. Just relaying what Sharpe said could have, supposedly, happened.

Actually shmessy you are the closed minded one here.

The question is has Ian directed you to be closed minded or inversely naïve?

The part that is most curious at this point, is that we have absolultely no idea what Martins perspective is.
We have had many, many, many people tell us what they think his perspective is or should be, but none has neem confirmed.

We don't know why he left. We don't know if he took offense to the N word, or like Pouncey for example felt RI was one of the group and it was no big deal.
We don't know why he left. We don't know what the malcious physical attack his attorney speaks of is. We don't know if he was serious in that text where he told RI it wasn't them it was the culture. We don't know if that was the depression talking, and after reflection he realized they were the cause.
We don't know much, except that RI is vulgar and used the N word.
What caused Martin to leave and which issues he was one of the guys in and which he felt isolated and bullied are still unknown.
What is in those 1100 texts would be nice to know as a start.

My major sticking point in this is that many people in trying to assess the racism vs Martin factor, look at the other black players actions and responsibilities with a very racist view.

I think racism is a red herring here.

The real question is whether Martin was ostracized because a number of his teammates felt he was different and didn't fit in.

By the way, those who say Martin's action were motivated by his "failures" on the field are making an assumption in the absence of the complete set of facts. Only Jonathan Martin knows for sure why he did what he did.

I find it highly amusing that many of the same people who happily deride Glazer as one of the "mediots", or who ***** about what a know-nothing idiot he is when he writes something not-sufficiently-complimentary of the Patriots are now saying how despite the incredible conflict of interest between Glazer and Icognito we should expect objective integrity from Glazer.

If he's got the texts he claims to have than its pretty damning. It doesn't matter if his mom interviewed him, evidence speaks for itself.

Where have I claimed I was open minded about this case?

Isn't the expectation of objective integrity a given, until he person violates it?
Remember the comment made was that without even waiting for the interview to be air we 'should know' that Incognito said some really bad things that got edited out.
As far as his comments about the Patriots I don't know his history, but I dont know why insight and opinion as a football analyst would relate to whether or not he has integrity.

Again this is not a case of him doing something and being defended, it is a case of someone proclaiming him tainted and dishonest in advance.

That certainly explains a lot.

At least I'm honest about it, Andy. You willingly suspend your belief about this nor being a softball manipulated interview with Incognito flying across the country to the opposite coast to give his one interview to a guy he's has a business relationship in the past which when reported by Sports Illustrated necessitated a statement from Fox.
