Yes, we can look back now and say that the Pats had the cap room to sign Woodhead. At the time, they were still busy worrying about Talib, Arrington, and Vollmer (all higher priorities) had not yet signed Kelly, had not yet made a run at Sanders, and had not gained the cap room from releasing Hernandez. They had no idea what their cap room would look like right now.

NE has had several chances the last 3 or 4 years with our zillion high round picks to make nice offers for one of those stud receivers(i.e Fitz especially, who is rotting away in Arizona)
