We're the 3rd most unstable fans in the NFL

that "study" has more holes in it than a Syrian apartment building in Damascus...

Comes with the territory of any successful franchise over a ten plus year period. A lot of that is the fairweather fans, the ones that will disappear when Brady retires.

Also a lot of "fans" that only post when bad things happen

3rd place is for ****ys...............

This cant be accurate. Were not stable. After 43 years of being a joke, we still cant believe we won a game. Naturally we tweet and proclaim a miracle with each game. The top list says volumes, lol.

Sometimes when I read this board I think we are #1... especially amongst the "Sky if Falling" crowd...

We are also in the top 5 in saddest after a loss... right after Pittsburgh and Detroit, just above Miami and Oakland..
Puritanical self flaggulation......see red sox fans

I am shocked the story is not come from ESPN its pure BS we should be #1

Every win brings out the homers to talk about 16-0/winning the Super Bowl. Every loss brings out the chicken littles to talk about Brady having lost it/not making the playoffs. With that, it's not surprising that this fan base would show up as unstable under the metrics used.

guess what..the whole farkin' WORLD is unstable...ranking instability is like counting grains of sand on the beach..a fool's errand

That's one of the main reasons why I stopped following the Sox. I just couldn't take it anymore. I still will watch (whenever possible) the games against the Damnyankees, and I'll watch if they make the playoffs, but otherwise, no dice.

Same sort of thing with the Celtics and Bruins. Too much stress back then, plus work, kids, etc. So I said goodbye to them all and stuck with the Pats, whom I have followed since they drafted Plunkett. Life is better now.

Seriously....... most long-time Patriots fans remember how psychotic this team used to be. Hell, many of the players, and some of the coaches, were just as bad as the fans. So nowadays, in the Golden Age of this franchise, I'm much more forgiving of most things. Not all, mind, you, but for those things, rather than post & ***** & moan on the forum, there's alcohol, music and weights. :rocker:

Natives have been fickle since well before Pats' success. Comes with being native Boston sports fan.

i knew there was something wrong with you people.

pretty interesting study of the mood of the nation's fans who use twitter. The 3rd place ranking in being "unstable" - biggest range of mood swings after wins or losses - was somewhat understandable. They ought check stability around here after the injury reports come out if they want to find instability.

The raiders being #1 was odd. You would think they'd be used to losing by now.

When I hear things like this I GET SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy with the ranking.

I don't think this is so bad. It means we care about our sports teams. Who wants to be known as "most apathetic?"

Reads like an article leaked from PFF. Do they truly expect us to believe they can measure fan stability without seeing the whole interweb and understanding individual assignments?

I used to feel down after losses but coming on this board after a loss makes me feel better. It's no surprise were ranked 3rd, it's not like were like, let's say the Cleveland Browns where expectations are low.

They studied twitter. That's a good enough cross section of fans for me.

Though you could argue that twitter attracts a younger crowd. Discussion boards are definitely the arena of the 30+ crowd and that group might be less temperamental.
