Jaws QB Countdown

It's because Manning turned the Broncos from the 2nd worst passing offense in the league to one of the best.

Any good quarterback following up a Tim Tebow quarterbacked season would make a dramatic improvement.

While this is true, almost bottom to almost top is a long way.

It depends on how you look at it. For all that people like to bash the Tebow offense, it took Denver just as far as the Manning offense. Meanwhille, the Collts were just fine without the fivehead.

Jaworski is rating these guys for the upcoming season based on their strengths and weaknesses last year. Cam Newton regressed and dropped in Jaws' opinion.

Thanks, that makes the rankings a bit more meaningful. I would still say that if the list is strictly for this upcoming season then Luck is too highly rated, in my opinion.

What about Matt Schaub? Would you rather have Andrew Luck or Matt Schaub? I think Schaub should be around #15. He's a head case.

That's actually a great question. We have a lot more to go on with Schaub, whereas we only have one season with Luck. I'd take Luck over Schaub myself; however, for the 2013 season I would place the next five (Kaepernick, Wilson, RGIII, Cutler, Romo) ahead of Luck, as well as Dalton. I would also seriously consider placing Rivers, Stafford, Palmer and Tannehill ahead of Luck as well right now.

The measure was for passing offenses, not how far the offenses took the team.

Luck did more with less last year, thus the ranking from Jaws. Romo has never shown to be worthy of the contract Jerry gave him. Palmer is wayyyyyyyyy past his prime and the same applies to Rivers. Dalton is a wait and see with this year being his opportunity for a big contract. Cutler is a wash, a total waste by both Denver and Chicago, he will never be an elite qb. And Stafford will be judged by playoff wins. With Rodgers in the same division, the Lions need to win playoff games for Stafford to achieve elite status. He has the best weapon in the game, no division titles and no playoff wins equal Stafford a bust. The rest of the rookie crew will all be judged in the near future. My guess is Luck will be the best of the bunch, by far. And that's just not my Colts fans heart showing.

They were 13th in 09' and 7th in 10' with Orton at the helm. I think it was a combination of Fox not trusting Tebow to throw the ball 30+ times a game and Tebow's lack of accuracy when he did throw it it.

My point is only that the turn around that most attribute to Manning is a bit skewed.

Not to mention it did do what Manning's offense couldn't and won a playoff game.

Not to be confused with a Tebow faithful, I'm just giving credit where credit is due.

I agree Deus, some people just want to bring a certain NFL player down.

who farted.....?

:ditto:
fair and balanced.

Brady is number 1, cannot be disputed.

He has won the most Superbowls.
He has put up the numbers in reg season
50 TD's in one season
Will almost certainly break the consecutive TD record soon.

If all their careers ended today, Brady's would have been the most successful... Rodgers might be more talented, but his playoff record is poor, same can be said for Manning.

Stafford has mashed potatoes where his brain is supposed to be, nobody can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like him, except maybe Romo.

Flacco at #4? No
Schaub at #9? No
Manning at #1? No

I love Brady; he's my all time favorite NFL player, and there is absolutely no other QB I'd want behind the center more, but heading into 2013 I think you have to give Rodgers a slight edge.

Rodgers is 29; Brady is 36; which is one of the reasons these type of rankings are stupid, Brady is heading in the home stretch, Rodgers is just into his prime.

When speaking to total body of work you're absolutely correct no other active QB could be in the same sentence as TB12.

Manning was ranked number one?!?

Those rankings are laughable at best....

With the exception of Luck, look at the weapons each of the QBs in the top ten have to throw to. The only consistent weapon TB had the entire year was Welker.

Great point; Matt Ryan having two WR in the Top 10 certainly is a distinct advantage over what Brady had after all the injuries we experience in 2012.

I also noticed this was your first post and wanted to say welcome

But it's not over for tb12. He will win a big one or 2 soon. The passion this dude has is incredible for winning. Can't wait to see what he says when he holds the fourth Lombardi and to be with Montana in SB wins.
