OK, Time To Move On - Many CB's and Safeties Still On The Market

For what it's worth:

Would be nice to add another CB on top of Talib if he does indeed return.

I also think by waiting we may have just saved ourselves a few million dollars. Lots have guys may have come off the market, but so have the teams with needs at CB. Supply was always going to outweigh demand for DB's, so waiting and letting prices drop was the right strategy. If we can get Talib for $5-6mil/yr instead of $7-8mil it could mean the difference between someone like Asomugha as our 3rd CB and Arrington.

Keenan Lewis to NO - 5 years, $26.3 million max, $10.5 guaranteed.

All the corners are being snapped up Bill better get off his ass and do something.

That's not the correct way to look at it IMO. There were/are a lot of CB's on the market. With the cuts to come (the team that signs Revis will make cuts), the cuts made because teams have to clear space for other FA's they sign and the draft picks that they will make, and camp cuts.

What that all means is the price of CB's taken out of the FA market will tend to be suppressed because in the game of musical chairs being played out, there is a shortage of chairs - and not just for the CB's nobody wants.

Also the draft is very strong this year for CB's. The Pats can pick up one that should be a player in the first round if they so choose.

I had an in-depth discussion with a Steelers supporting friend today. I had mentioned to him that I was a little disappointed the Patriots didn't sign Lewis. His remark to me was "stone hands, you're better off without him." If a Steelers fan saw that then I trust BB's scouting assessment.

We don't NEED picks, we need stops. If his stone hands could bat down or deflect passes and cause an incompletion or a pick from another DB, I don't really care. We need CBs who can stay with their man though, he seems to be one who can do that.

Which CB's do you think have the best chance of landing in NE

a lot of reports are pointing to talib returning which sounds promising. but i just like a lot of other people would be much more comfortable signing another CB. There are good talented cb's still left that i have heard 0 about such as grimes. I just caught a video of grimes and jesus this kid has a vertical. He was able to cover calvin Johnson!!! check him out kid has got ups!!! whats your opinion ?
