thinking of changing my nick to Jokules....

But then instead of Mr. Joe Kerr, you'd be Mr. Joe Kules.

It just doesn't have the same ring to it

you're right...it was a moment of weakness...I am and will forever be...Joe Kerr..the Man Of LaMuncha

What's hilarious is that Tebow absolutely, positively, will succeed, as will the JEST, for like 2 games, or 3 games, or a play or two on SportsCenter, and we'll have to hear about him being the farkin messiah for 2-3 years until the JEST fans turn on him too -- hell, they might even have one of those outstanding seasons where they get to ALMOST making the SB... you know, an outcome one step short of the outcome NE fans get teased about.

Maybe Wrecks wanted him b/c of the story in the bible about Jesus washing all his disciples' feet...

I have insider information on why Rex was compelled to make this trade. I am shocked no one has yet reported it but,,, the truth will come out.

Rex has converted and is born again, see Rex was reading the New Testament and got to the part where Jesus was washing apostles feet, at that moment Rex saw a place for Tebow in the plans for the Green Beans, Rexy will be washing Tebows feet with holy water before each game, this he feels will curry gavor with God and fulfill his fantasies at the same time the deal was contingent wil a medical report on Tebow's toes...

Thanks for calling my attention to your earlier post on this 13, you did get there first.

Coming full circle: More than one source has noted the "feet" was slang for genitals in biblical times.

Wrecks is in Heaven...

Well you certainly reached the right conclusion.....:D

If that's the case no one has seen Wrecks' "feet" in quite some time. I'd hate to think Tebow was brought to the Green Beans for a biblical quest bordering on the impossible.

So what about the $5M now reduced to $2.5M?

Is this just a cash payment between clubs; like all the soccer leagues pay to release a player from another team?

OR does it have any cap ramifications to either team?

That would be more hilarious still if the $2.5M counted somehow against the Jesters cap in this season. :bricks: I thought they were already up against the wall. :singing:

Excellent question.
What are the exact cap hits to each team?
Do the teams need league permission to change these payments or is it at their trade discretion?

FWIW the new CBA closed a loophole that allowed teams to advance salary. It was becoming a habit with a lot of deals - and especially rookie ones - being written absent signing bonus because of the difficulty in recovering it after some of the arbitrator rulings in the mid 2000's. You could pay them more of their guaranteed money up front with recapture clauses that protected the team if the player screwed up or forced a trade or something... I believe in these cases teams had to count the advance in the present, so Denver will be getting a credit but only for the amount that is being reimbursed. They will have to eat the rest as sunk cost. You only get credit on cap expenditures when they are reimbursed (like Atlanta did only for the amount of Vick's signing bonus they could actually ultimately recover). NY will never pay the half they are not reimbursing (Tebow already has it and it's somewhere on Denver's cap) so they aren't on the hook for it - but they will be on the hook for the money they are reimbursing that will come off Denver's cap. That will be in addition to his 2012 and 2013 actual salaries. So he is costing them an extra $2.5M against the cap than what they likely thought he would.

A major factor in Tebow’s push to come to New York over Jacksonville, his hometown, is that he sees a clear path to resuming his career as a starter, sources tell the Daily News.

QB controversy anyone?!? The Jets implosion could be like the original Star Wars trilogy. The 2011 Jets were like a New Hope. The implosion was well crafted, new and exciting, and just fun to watch. The 2012 Jets implosion looking to be like Empire Strikes Back in that it will raise the bar on implosions, be darker, with a climatic and shocking ending making us Pats fans look forward to the 2013 implosion. The 2013 Jets implosion sadly might be like Return of the Jedi. It will be a rehash of the 2012 season, but still satisfying if they could only get rid of the annoyingly cute Ewoks.

It's already started. Thanks for the early Christmas gift Rex!

Sanchez does remind one of Jar Jar Binks

I assume the Jets are responsible for all of his $500,000 signing bonus?

Yes, they will be. So they probably paid $500k for a conditional 6th or 7th round draft pick.
