This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

You're right...and the Jets almost got in...but they LOST...and they were down 9 points with a minute and a half to go before scoring a meaningless TD to make it a 2 point loss instead of a NINE point loss...so actually, they never really had any chance to get in after crapping the bed all day...but your point gives the legions of faithful "43 years and counting" green fateful(sic) a life preserver to cling to in this stormy sea of inevitable disappointment they've been capsized into....you are a kind, compassionate person, BTTA..I think all Jet fans should rally around the green flag..."three points and two points away!!!! we almost WENT TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!..just like Rex promised!!!"

Rex, "i'm not a loser" Ahh yes you are you fat bi-otch

Rex Ryan: “I’m not a loser” | ProFootballTalk

“I’m always going to chase a Super Bowl,” Ryan said. “I know I get criticized for it beyond belief. But if you don’t, then you’re probably a loser. I’m not a loser.”

This probably could use its own thread but there are enough Rats/Fatso threads already.

he's a legit moron,

Says he respects people then he disrespects them.

Say's he's a winner but act's like a loser.

Says he won't play 2nd fiddle to the Giants now he's playing 2nd fiddle to the Giants.

Says he's going to win a Super Bowl every year and doesn't win a Super bowl every year.

Now he's says people that don't put silly predictions out there are cowardice losers. "Yeah, I'm Rex and I talk tuff and if you don't talk tuff your a p*ssy."

"No ones better than me" but you lost rex??? "Well, they were better today for 60 minutes but that's it, that's in the past we're starting over hell I'll go play em right now. That's me I'm tuff and confident, I think I'm better than everyone"

Rex
“If people don’t have the guts or courage to put it out there, then so be it,” he added. “That’s on them. I will always chase the Super Bowl. I believe we’ll win the Super Bowl and I’ll believe it for the next 15 years. . . . I’ll find a way to make this team better.”

Muddy prediction, now it's a super bowl victory within the next 10-20 years. Sounds afraid to be specific.

So Rex is going to resign?

I appreciate being labeled as kind and compassionate, although in this case I'm just looking for more ways to create misery for Jets fans. It would have been SO SWEET for them to have blown the opportunity by losing to the 'Phins. The improbable door was opened for them through those four teams losing, and they walked right through it...oh no...wait...they blew that, too!

BWHAHAHAHAHAH

but...so what you are saying is you are in the throes of a massive attack of schadenfreude???...what a coincidence...SO AM I !

No Rex, you shoot off your mouth beyond belief. When you do that and don't produce, you get criticized. Really an easy concept to understand.

"all aboard!!!!...shuttle to alternate green universe and the Super Bowl boarding at Gate D(one)...please have all toes covered and tray tables locked in position until takeoff...estimated time of arrival at Planet Moron's Jersey Terminal....never...that is all..."

About as much as a man can stand, yes.

Cherrypicked from today's New York Daily News about their $45,000,000 cap commitment Captain, and the overall attitude and discipline on the Jets:

Santonio Holmes, one of Rex Ryan’s captains, jawed at teammates after becoming an afterthought on Sunday. It was the second time Sunday that Holmes had gotten into a verbal altercation with Jets players. Before long, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer pulled Holmes from the game, unbeknownst to Ryan.

“It started off between Holmes and another guy,” left guard Matt Slauson explained. “Then everybody came at each other. It was bad. It was breaking down. That’s how it goes when you’re not doing well and you’re in a must-win. Tempers get flared.”

Holmes, held without a catch for the first time in his career, had a heated discussion with teammates earlier in the second half, two players told the Daily News. They also felt that Holmes “quit” on the team based on his body language. When Holmes’ replacement, Patrick Turner, scored a 10-yard touchdown with 1:24 to go, Holmes sat alone on the bench, motionless.

“I looked out there and was wondering why he wasn’t out there,” Ryan said of Holmes. “I did not bench Santonio.”

But Schottenheimer did.

After the game...the offensive coordinator walked toward Holmes, who looked away. The two men never said a word to each other. Asked whether he believes the embattled Schottenheimer should return as the team’s play-caller in 2012, Holmes offered this cryptic response: “Right now, let’s hope for the best.”

It was the final indignity for a team that entered the season with Super Bowl expectations.

“We had higher expectations than anyone in the NFL,” tight end Dustin Keller said. “Or at least anyone that was willing to talk about it.”

The Jets (8-8) entered the day needing to beat the Dolphins and hope that the Titans, Bengals and either the Raiders or Broncos would lose. Minutes after the Jets lost, Tennessee won, 23-22, in Houston. The game was decided when Houston, down by one with 14 seconds left, went for two and didn’t get it.

Later in the day, the Bengals, Broncos and Raiders all lost, but it didn’t matter, as the loss in Miami kept the Jets out of the postseason for the first time under Ryan.

Ryan reiterated that he believes that Sanchez, who went 21-for-32 for 207 yards, two TDs and three interceptions, is “the long-term solution” at quarterback.

“It’s been disturbing for a while,” right guard Brandon Moore said about the lack of unity this season. Moore, of course, called out Holmes earlier in the season after the mercurial wideout made a couple of critical comments about the offensive line.

“The one thing you can’t do is you can’t point the finger,” Revis said. “You’ve got to respect your teammates. This is the team that Mike Tannenbaum put together... I know it’s been rough and guys have been calling people out (this season).

It was the final image in a season sprinkled with locker room discord.

Ok...lol. How the heck is Joker liking a post twice? It's awesome.

Imagine being a Jets fan and having this crash and discord stay as your season memory all off season? Warm the heart, it does. What's best is that it really drains any rational hope for a better run next season. Jet fans always quick to proclaim how the 1st seed Pats are on the decline now get to experience real decline, up close and personal.

Imagine if a player on the Pats was benched by a coach other than Belichick?!

To bad he won't be there for the next fifteen years, he may not make it for for the next 15 months.

Green Beans have press conference at 3 p.m. today to announce "organizational changes." Expect Schottenheimer to be their sacrificial lamb/scapegoat.

There going to cut Bart 'the mouth' Scott any minute now according to Joe Bada Bingo

I'd love it if they somehow keep Schottenheimer and use the press conference to announce cutting Scott and Holmes, but that's only in my dreams. Maybe it's to announce a second lap-band surgery for Jabba or a reverse-lobotomy for Woody Johnson.

Santonio Holmes was escorted off the premises ignoring the media, Revis also ignored the media...this is great stuff
