Brady did not have his head in the game on the interception. Brady just needed to throw the ball out of bounds and let Gostkowski kick a field goal. The decision by Brady was awful. Obviously, we all understand Brady's frustration, but a 10 point lead would have been important.
They'll have a full day of work
The positive from today's game; the Patriots beat a Shanahan coached side whilst breaking the Redskins in Washington hoodoo.
What a conflicting performance otherwise.
A lot to be concerned about.
Two stinkers of a game in a row, along with the disappearance of the run game.
Plenty to discuss..
I also fault either BOB or TFB for play calling on the series where they're running the ball down those filthy Redskins' throats and get a 1st and goal around the 5. Suddenly we go empty backfield play after play? Why? Result no TD and settle for a FG.
Has BOB forgotten that BJGE is on the team? Yeah he's got hands of stone but he gets yards.
Worst of all was the last offensive series where only a turnover could keep us from an insurmountable 2 score lead and Brady misses WWW throwing behind him. Yes it is a catch Wes usually makes, but bad throw. Subsequently Mr 200+ passes w/o a pick forces the ball and we don't even settle for 3.
Disappearance of the run game??? You mean the lack of BO'B using the run game? When they actually ran the ball, they did so pretty well..

Pretty much. I wonder if the pressure of having to score and be nearly perfect on every possession has made Brady develop kind of a gunslinger mentality. But that play just further illustrates the need for a physical, athletic, outside receiver. A bigger guy could have positioned himself to at least break up the interception on that play. Doesn't excuse Tom' poor decision making, though.
Yes, the defense gives us all nightmares, but the running game thing is bogus. We ran it twice and a row and hadto punt, this team lives and dies with Brady. You'd rather run than pass?
Yes I meant the lack of using the run game. There's nothing logical about BJGE and Ridley combining for five total carries the whole game. Nothing.
Quoted for emphasis.First team to throw for over 300 yards on the redskins this year.
I agree. This team can't run the ball mostly because they haven't been given a chance to develop that part of the game. They had some good runs today but wouldn't stick with it. PuzzlingIt's called not running the ball consistently. Also, you need to run the ball in the right situations. Which the Pats weren't doing. Hell, they were TELEGRAPHING their plays with the runs. It was silly..Instead of lining up with their Elephant Package, why not line up with TWO RBs back there and do the direct snap to Faulk? You know the one that he's scored numerous TDs with and gotten numerous 1st downs with??
I would rather the Pats mix it up on offense so that they can actually catch teams off-guard..
But the coaches haven't been playing musical chairs with the offense's personnel.I wonder how much longer this can go on before the locker room completely implodes.
The offensive guys have to be a little pissed that the defense can't do anything right.
Awful game to watch on D.
That said two of the Skins scoring drives occurred with key penalties. One McCourty's brain dead PI where a simple tackle would have forced a punt is addressable via coaching. Another where 75 committed a stupid PF on a stop, same solution. And a 3rd where Carter got called for a tacky hit below the knew.
Were I London Fletcher I too would be wicked pissed on that awful PF called when he hit Brady who slid at the last millisecond.
