even without scoring he had 2 good returns and blocked down field the best I have watched him do this year. Plus 2 catches and 1 run. Anybody else agree.

I agree. I thought he showed a glimpse of what he could be.

He continues to show the athletic ability to suggest he'll take a BIG step up next year. And with all these little at the line/screen type passes they're throwing his way (one or two a game), don't be surprised to see them fake that and have Brady go downfield when they jump the route, as they've been doing.

It will be interesting to see who is added to the Jackson/Caldwell mix and if Troy does indeed return.

Jackson is a sleeper ... BB's ace in the hole.
I wouldn't be surprise to see him become very important
in the playoffs. Maybe after the JETs game.

We had a rough return man year last year ... right now Hobbs & Jackson and Maroney (depending on risk) ... we are in good shape for the playoffs and next year.

It was fun when Troy was our return man ... always a chance he'd bring one to the bank. I feel any of these 3 can do that and also hard to kick away from a player on kickoffs if 2 of them are back there.

I mean this in a good way, but it was nice to see him take a hit. He has been used so little it probaly felt good to take a real hard shot. You can definately see his speed and he is much bigger than I thought. Hopefully he has a little fire in his belly, seeing Kight getting the ball in the 1st quarter instead of #17 has to make him a little pissed.

We will need him in the playoffs, Bethel had a huge TD against the Titans in the 2003 play-offs. If he can provide the same spark it will be great.

I said, in the chat room today, that Chad Jackson wil have his breakout game next Sunday, against the Jets.

And the way this WR corps is starting to click, it wil be one of the best, overall, in the playoffs, and will present new challenges to every defense we play, including Baltimore.

Welcome back, NEM, and I hope your prediction about next week is correct. It would be nice to see the rookie beat the Jets Deep for 6.

I think that, from what I see, that this is a very,. very hungry team, and that they are peaking at, exactly, the right time. I see us going all the way....and I really mean that.

I do like what I see, but I've still got a couple of reservations:

1.) Kicking game

2.) Brady's arm seems to be getting a bit more accurate, but it's still not right.

3.) 3 hard hitting games in 3 weeks while S.D. can get away with only playing the one against New England. K.C. might win against the Colts, but they'll shoot their bolt doing it.

I think if they play at the top of their game, only the Chargers are a threat. But any big mistakes against the Ravens could come back to haunt them.

I agree

that game today was a dirty ,mean vicious little exercise in punch in the face football....and we won by TKO on their field.

sure looks like we're peaking at the right time

Nice to see you here NEM!!! I know you're a CJ fan so I knew you would be happy.

Ooooh, I just saw that Chad had a 23 yard catch - I had to miss the last 5 minutes to go and pick up the kids, sounds like I missed a good time GREAT to hear Chad had a good length catch late.

Chad's learning to contribute, much like Watson did, blocking first. Working him in to end-arounds and punt returns is great, too. Love the way this staff teaches rooks to be complete players.

i guess we can thank Faulk for being hurt a bit. Faulk has done a great job himself but CJ, the fans and the coaches needed something from Chad so it was his opportunity. reminds me of Hobbs in a way..to earn playing time u need to contribute wherever u are and not just contribute but give it full effort..like Hobb's 50 yard KR against Miami that led to more PT against Texans..to a TD and doing a great job against a guy bigger than him by 3x (Andre Johnson) in openfield..

Chad took that step. He was given a role today and that was to return punts. 2 great returns .. 2 catches(1 for nothing but got it his way) and an end around that went for 10 or 20 but a penalty made it only 6?

This Patriots team, imho, is much like the Patriots team that won the 3 SB's and last year's team. This is a team that can win any game provided they don't do "un-patriot" like things. Plain and simple, turn the ball over and we are in trouble (like against Denver last year). Don't turn the ball over and don't make stupid penalties and we are capable, and likely, to be in every game. Further, we'll be in those games with a coach and players that are a highly proven commodity in crunch time. I believe, even with the injuries and LB troubles, that we could have won last year's SB save stupid turnovers. I believe we are in the same position this year. Play smart, efficient, turnover free football like they are very capable of doing, and we have a realistic shot.

I agree beginning to see bits and pieces of how athletic and how good this guy might be, patience and bringing him along slowly will pay big dividends this year, but more probably next. I really like our return folks, either on kickoffs or returns.. most explosive in a long time.

i agree and i am happy for him (also the team was 'happy' about his plays - i noted on the sideline...)

he could be a factor in the play-offs

so: at the right time...
