The lockout must've had a more sizeable effect than anticipated, because I'll be damned if the level of play in the NFL this year hasn't dropped precipitously.

And the tight restrictions on practices compound the problem. Lots of ugly football all around the league. (And even the Pats seem to be turning the ball over more, etc.)

if they're going to call helmet to helmet on every play that a helmet brushes another helmet after the play is over, then they should throw multiple PF calls on every single running play that goes for a tackle in every single game where it's a pile up tackle

Yeah I saw the Steeler game last week, defense was dominant in that 2nd half. Their defense is putting on a clinic tonight one of the best performances I've ever seen, the Ravens offense isn't great but it's not pedestrian either, much credit to Jacksonville's D tonight.
