It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Aside from the business decisions versus football decisions aspect, I have been under the distinct impression that profits from all apparel sales are split equally between all 32 NFL teams. If I recall correctly the only distinction is for apparel sold at home on the day of the game - i.e., the team also gets to keep additional cut probably to offset the expense of the people they have to hire to run those kiosks. The Patriots have NEVER cut a newly acquired veteran (or drafted rookie) before the season starts whose jersey is available in the team's pro shop. Not that I ever thought Chad was in danger of not making the team, but this should dispel any of the media speculation we've read. This might seem silly to some but it's a business after all, and I have a pretty good hunch that more than guesswork goes into what otherwise would seem a minor thing.
No Haynesworth jersey has been offered yet. Hmm ...

Now I'm not 100% sure that is correct, but I am pretty sure that I read that somewhere during all the CBA talk over the last couple of years. If correct - and I'm pretty sure I am - it would refute the oft-repeated theory that teams acquire a player with the idea that he'll make money for that team based on the projected sales of licensed merchandise.
No, he won't be cut. BB has already given word through channels to the marketing department that he's on the team. Book it.
All these annual discussions and commentary about who will or won't make the roster can now be considered obsolete. Going forward what Miguel is to the Pats salary cap, is now the guy who manages inventory at an online retail store is to the Pats post-training camp roster; looking forward to his breaking news and following him on twitter. Sorry mgteich, but you've been replaced.

I think there is zero chance Belichik discusses his final roster with the marketing department.
I've presented you with evidence to the contrary. If you have something to refute that, other than an opinion, let us know.
Well you havently really showed that he does at all. What you have shown is that marketing is a good indicator on players being cut.
I mean its always a difficult task to examine what variable which can explain an outcome.
My thought would be that marketing, being in the organisation, has some feel about what player jerseys they should put on hold for a while. Doesnt mean they know, just that they know which to not make right now.
Although statistics usually points the right way so your final conclusion might be right but you cant prove it
