For those who do not realize (and most of us do)--
Taylor Price is considered a 'high' draft pick here. He came in the 3rd round, and was considered a decent prospect at the position.
He may very well be the fastest player on the entire team, if not he is surely in the top 2 or 3. He runs a 4.40, and has been timed in the 4.3's before.
He was picked for the future, as going into the draft last April we were decently stocked at the position with Moss, Welker, a finally injury free Tate, Edelman, the signing of Holt as a vet, and the re-emergence of the TE with picks of Hernandez and Gronkowski. Price was not expected to see the field, and immediately came in on the bottom of the depth chart, and with good reason. It is a complex offensive system, relying heavily on reading the defense, the ability to quickly improvise, and most of all..timing. It would be extremely ignorant for someone to believe that he was drafted to contribute in his rookie year with such a supporting cast of all-stars, with absolutely no knowledge of the playbook, the system, any rapport with Brady, and the involvement of the TE's being blended into the scheme more.
We can't even agree on Tate's role or future here, because it's too early to have enough of a sample size to go on---now we are going to throw Price under the bus when he didn't even really see the field???
Hell, Edelman showed us all great promise in the playoff game vs Baltimore last yr, so much that some well-respected posters predicted a '100+' year of receptions for him---and HE didn't even really see many WR reps due to the depth chart etc. How in the world can someone already have a bad feeling about Taylor Price????
It's almost comical.
