When you think about the most recent patriot loses, most of them came from teams we beat or were favored to beat.

thought of fans before the game
vs broncos in 2005= brady has never lost a playoff game
colts in 2006 - peyton manning has never beaten the pats in the playoffs
2007- vAfter scoring 38 points against the giants at their home, no way way they could stop the pats
2008-no playoffs, but if the didn't take dolphins lightly and won that game the record would 12-4
2009-ravens have lost 7 straight times against plus its in foxboro, no way the pats would lose
2010 A team that the pats beat 45-3 that qb has never beat the pats at home does not have a chance.

My point is maybe the patriots play better when there is no much expected from them.

Could you not have posted in one of the many threads you've already started or the many threads on this same topic?

Next year there won't be much expected from them in the playoffs.

Maybe the Patriots play better when they make fewer mistakes than their opponent.

Everyone loves to think that there is some great talent differential that ensures victory, but the talent differential is vanishingly small among playoff teams so it all rides on the plays and the mistakes you make or don't make. Talent will not overcome a mistake differential.

Does overconfidence or arrogance breed mistakes? It can, but no team is more consistently businesslike and respectful to the task than are the Patriots, whicle also being so unwilling to read press clippings, so I believe you whole premise is one huge load of bunk.

That makes it fit right in with a dozen other knee-jerk threads started today.
