Re: Damn you Randy, and damn the Titans

You absolutely cannot argue this team would compete for a playoff spot without Tom Brady. Matt Cassel had a nice little season, but he had one of the most dominant teams in NFL history and produced a mere 11 wins against the most ridiculous schedule any team in the league faced that season.

This year or in the future?

You give Brian Hoyer all of TC and a 16 game schedule and they don't even compete for one?

BTW, the 2008 team was not dominant. The defense was marginal at best. If you look at the schedule, 9 of the 16 games we vs .500 or over and 2 were the SB participants. That is not a cupcake schedule.

Anybody still think Vince Young is a good quarterback? :D

Poor Randy, he's strictly a decoy now. Worst healthy season of his professional career.

Yeah, he must be hating life. I'd say "poor guy", but he made his bed...

Agreed. To add insult to injury, he's 1-5 with his new teams since leaving New England.

And that one win was against Dallas when they were still in Phillips hell.

Yeah, not good.

With all due respect to Randy, 2007 Randy was worth the money they paid him for 2008-2010. OTOH, 2010 Randy is not at all worth that kind of money. :(

I really wonder how he feels? Really guys, who do you think will give him a deal next year?

No. He's a role player but his ego won't accept that

he's a legit #2 in the league but he needs a team that he really is the #2.

Agreed. The Titans will be better once they get Britt back. I think Nashville is a good place for Randy. It is a great city and much closer to his family.

You really have to start wondering if Brady made Moss.
Before we got him, he was useless in Oakland, and remember the comments were that he hadn't lost a step, he had lost two.
Now that we decide he is no longer useful to us, he is as bad with his new teams as he was with the Raiders, maybe worse.
Perhaps its time to consider that Moss would not have done what he did here with any other QB.

Moss did quite well with Cassel, so its not just Brady.

Moss is parking his arse on my fantasy football team's bench for the rest of the season.

On one of today's pre-game shows an 'insider' was speculating that New England would be one of the most likely homes for Moss in 2011, as long as he was willing to play for whatever the Pats would be willing to give him. Much of that was based on the idea that no other teams will give Moss an offer in the off season.

There was still quite a dropoff from 07 to 08 and quite a bit of improvement from 08 to 09.

I find it hard to believe he lost such a big step in between 2009 and 2010. He had over 1200 yards receiving last year. There has to be something else going on. I just don't think he is emotionally invested in the game right now.

It is easy for me to believe that he steadily lost that 'step' and Brady covered it up. Once he no longer could, we moved on and everyone else is finding out. I have said all along the Jet game showed that either Moss had slipped or stopped trying. Considering the positive feelings that seem to still be here about him from Brady and BB, it could well be that it wasnt effort.
Clearly if Moss were the same player we saw here for most of his stay he wouldn't be getting cut and totally, completely shut down. He isnt just not a top WR any more he is a terrible one.

I'm not endorsing resigning him in the offseason. However, at the beginning of the season he clearly was preoccupied with his contract situation. Once he was traded things have kinda spiraled out of control on both the teams he has been on. He probably is watching the Patriots continue to win from afar and just cannot get up for game time anymore. I am not a psychologist by any means but it just seems like it to me. I just find it hard to believe that a 33 year old who is coming off a very productive season would become so inept. Just my opinion, we may never know for sure.
