Neal, Taylor, and Pryor downgraded to out. Panicking now?

Pryor plated 23 snaps.
Brace played 44 wilfork 43 deadrick 29 wright 23 warren 20
Saying a 'starter' is out is using a technical to exaggerate the issue, but consider the source.

He may not be the typical defintion of a starter but his injury will force us to play kyle love in some capacity. A guy who has zero reps this season going into a game where we need our Dline play to be stout.

We might be in for the worst stretch of the BB era. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we lose 5 straight games(CLE, PIT, IND, NYJ, DET). At this point, the games dont stress me out. I kind of expect the worst and hope for the best. The good news with losing in a media crazy town is the front office will be ACTIVE in the offseason
Hey we could lose 8 ij a row since thats how many games we have left.

Not really. We arent exactly maxing out the other DLs on snaps. The 15 snaps or so that Pryor usually plays can be absorbed by the other DL that have been in the rotation without needing to give them to the last guy on the bench.
Every team has injured players. A DL who plays a handful of snaps and is 5th or 6th on the depth chart is hardly cause fo alarm.

I did actually wonder if Connelly would be Neal's successor, but any idea what he is like at RG?
He played there last year when Neal was out.

People get too hung up on starters. Especially on the d-line, being a listed starter doesn't mean anything more than you are on the field on the first defense play of the game in many cases. Pryor for the most part has been a decent rotational guy this year. He has not been a huge part of the defense. Saying he is a starter that is out, is a technicality.

The only player on this list which is significant is Neal, but with the return of Mankins his loss isn't as huge as it would have been two weeks ago. Missing Taylor hurts, but the Pats haven't had him in a half dozen games or so anyway. If the Pats lose tonight, it isn't because they didn't have these three players.

Assuming that the Pats and Mankins bury the hatchet and get a deal done. I wouldn't be surprised if Connelly is the starting RG next season.

Why? The Pats have 5 d-linemen with playing experience in a base 3-4. The loss of Pryor means that guys like Wright, Deadrick, Brace, and Warren will get more reps than they usually get. Not that Kyle Love will see the field. If Pryor typically sees 15-20 plays a game, it means the other guys will average 3-5 more snaps each. It will hurt the Pats to rotate players, but it doesn't mean that they are going to play a player with no experience.

Yeah your right mo i should have my pom poms out because this team looked so impresive last week against a team that is no where near the talent level of Pitt... Your right we are going to stomp them tom, this d is so dominant, and this offense is like shades of 07... Until Branch gets healthy this team is not moving the ball on anyone.. this running game aint the 78 pats brother...But your right i should think we will club pitt, but then agian im setting my self for low expectations. So what ever happens positive i will be happy..

People who say they can expect how an NFL team will perform from one week to another in this 2010 season have been right on the money this year?

Have you not been watching? What has been the overarching theme, week-in, week-out?

Anyone making any prediction is foolish to do so this year.

It's almost as stupid as predicting tomorrow's stock market between 11:00am-2:00pm.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the unexpected spectacle (good or bad) of what is going to unfold on this day/night.

But if firmly setting your expectations in order to avoid a nervous breakdown works for your health, then by all means. I fully respect everyone's self-preservation methods.

It's all good.

You betcha! This year has definitely been one of those "On any given Sunday" types of years. People can talk all they want (and I certainly do) but it's VERY dangerous to be predicting who is going to win any particular matchup this season.

Nope, surprised that Neal will be out, but Taylor is not ready, Pryor did not practice this week.. We are going to lose tommorow night, we are not good enough to compete against the Steelers , Colts and jets in the leauge this year.. The offense is predictiable, the D is green and the special teams now is affected without Ghost.. 10- 6 could still be our record, but tom night is going to be a loss ...

Now im just saying this hopin the law of avg will work out in our favor, but seriously this will be a loss but if its by a little will be ticked...

Wow.. Just WOW. The Colts are decimated by injuries, yet you think they are better than the Pats... What tells you that? Their 5-3 record?

Sean, you used to be someone to read on a pretty regular basis. But your pessimism is worse than Any Red Sox fan. You exaggerations make you look utterly foolish and show a glaring hole in your football sense.

It's really too bad.

No panicking here..didnt see how they would win this at the beginning of the year let alone after the amazing showing vs cleveland

I'm not panicking either. Oh no, our running back who's been injured for six weeks is out again. Oh no, our starting right guard who can easily be replaced by another starting right guard is out for the game. Oh no, a sub package defensive lineman who only plays on passing downs is out tonight against a running team. I'm so scared.

Don't the Steelers have more injuries to worry about? We've already lost 8000 guys for the season. I don't see how losing two more (sorry Fred, but you don't count) changes anything.

This is why we should be glad that Mankins is back.

Panicking?

You have no life if you find yourself in a panic after a football game because your team lost. Just think, it could be worse...you could get thrown out of mommy's basement next...

Panic because we replace a guard witha more talented one, and lose a journeyman DL? Even if the injured players were healthy, we have inferior talent to Pittsburgh.

NO FRED TAYLOR?!! How the hell will we ever survive without him?

Brace yourselves for a massive panic attack with lotsa girly man screaming and hair pulling once the 1st play occurs that doesn't go the Pats way. I'm embracing Zen like calmness pre-game. I hope that BB can brace up the DL for tonight.

I use the Pat Chung chant. Woosa. Try it, it works.

Totally agree. Poor Fragile Fred. Only played in 5 out of the last 21 Patriots games. Thats a DNP percentage of 76 percent !

Even sadder, in the 5 games that Fred did play in, he had a total of 166 yards on 43 carries. Thats right. In the last 21 regular season games, Fred has played only 5 times, averaging 33.2 yards in those 5 games, on 3.86 yards per carry.

why are you using "5" games?

In Taylors injury ridden career for the Patriots, hes averaging 4.2ypc.

I hope the chicken littles aren't watching this game. If you know the Patriots will lose, go to bed early and please don't show up here tomorrow if they somehow win.

This fanbase is pathetic. 8 days ago they were hands down the best team in the league and people were talking SuperBowl. Then they come out flat and get abused by the Browns and they aren't even worthy of being on the same field as the mighty Steelers. Grow a pair, asshats.
