Brady & Welker argued during Browns game

Sounds like this kid watched the Browns game.

Welker and Downing took questions from the kids. One youngster asked the Patriots receiver: ”When did you play football?”

”I still do,” Welker said with a laugh.

Brady sucked pretty bad all day. I can see why Welker would tear into him. One of his worst days as a Patriot. Brought back memories of that Denver game where he threw 4 picks or that debacle in Miami where he let the Fish come back and beat NE (threw a bunch of picks in that one, too).

Good news is Tommy Boy doesn't suck that often and when he does, he usually comes out blazing the following week.

Wow.
Brady threw zero picks.
If Gronkowski doesnt fumble he puts at least 21 points on the board, in a game where the other team had 38 minutes TOP. By any measure that is far from horrific and 'sucking pretty badly all day'

I think the whole "brady sucking" bit is relative. If he throws balls at someone's feet, he sucked because that is totally unexpected of him. For the most part, he isn't allowed any errors. We demand perfection. Expectations are pretty high for our QB, but he is, after all, TFB!

Of course that is all it is but let's be honest if it were anyone other than Welker it would be treated much differently by the fans here.
Rightly so. That's because some players earn respect due to their total, complete and continued efforts, attitude, and performance. Kevin Faulk and Brady arguing would not have been seen the same as Maroney and Brady arguing.

Welker has earned the right. Tate has not.

The Pats were awful in every phase of the game. Nothing wrong with competitive players getting super frustrated and snappish. Better than than the alternative. I still have visions of Ken Sims whistling as he walked off the field after another bad loss.

This is another reason I don't expect the Pats to be flat against the Steelers.

Oh oh. Did I miss Welker's post-game presser saying how much he loved the Dolphins and saluting Cameron and all 53 Dolphin helmets in the locker room?

Perfectly stated (you probably could add unselfishness). Why is this point so f-----g hard for certain people to understand?

Its not. Its just funny when guys go out saying that a guy who was an offensive captain hasn't earned. IE, a guy who has been called, by the coach of the team, the smartest and most hardworking WR he has ever seen.:bricks:

Hmmm....I recall the coach calling one WR (Moss) the smartest and another the hardest working (Welker) never recall him using both attributes for any WR.

You don't remember Belichick calling Moss the hardest working WR in football? He did it quite often.

And I don't remember him ever saying that about Welker.

QB-WR arguements during games are about as frequent as touchdowns and sacks.

I'm not worried about it. The issue was likely immediately squashed and the two moved on, business as usual.

38 min TOP goes both ways. It also means that the offense had trouble staying on the field, and against a defense that has been shredded by WRs all season long.

Hardest working (Owens would also fit into this category) and smartest doesn't speak to the issue (although being made a captain is certainly some kind of proof ......of something).

Think alot of what pisses Welker off is Moss never ran a exact route in his life and never ever ever gave up his body to make a play yet "Tommy" sucked on his Mossy toes 24/7 for 3 + years.
Now "Tommy" is going to bark at Wes and his surgically repaired knee?? I think not!!
Between a subpar Brady yapping at the receivers and Brady's just arrived bon-bon boy Branch throwing the kid receivers under the bus methinks Brady needs a major attitude adjustment.
As the saying goes "you are who you associate with".

Yeah, that was such a problem that they spent the offseason working out together on the left coast.

I've been harping on about it this season but Brady has been throwing far to many low balls at the feet of his receivers. Hip/knee height I have no issue as it takes the DB's ability to make a play out of the equation. The problem has become his receiving threats can't make a play on the ball either.

I haven't been that happy with the receiver's route running this year but Brady's throws have to take part of the blame too.

Jeez can you Tinkerbell's ever stay on topic??
We're talking about this season aka post Brady's binky being traded away.
Try to follow along!!

What was reported is always a nothing to see here moment no matter the status fans give to the player. You don't earn the right to be competitive and emotional on the field. Maroney/Faulk or Tate/Welker is all the same in this case.

We aren't talking about a TO meltdown - storming up and down the sidleines berating coach, QB, and coordinator. We aren't talking about that idiot Ochocinco disrupting the huddle because he was mad TO was getting passes and he wasn't to the point where his OL are threatening him and the coach had to yank him. Stuff like that is different and should be seen as different.

We're talking about a brief exchange between 2 competitors. It is part of playing football. Guys who played the game at the NFL level say it happens almost daily during the season. My point was/is this was something that is a normal, expected thing when you have instense competitors playing an emotional sport but that this board only views it that way because of how they percieve Welker.

Jeez...just what this board needed: another psychologist/ex-NFL-player to walk us thru what goes on the player's minds, what they did wrong and what they should do - all based on a few seconds of footage on screen and what they read from the papers. :bricks:

Will you do us all a favor and stop this anti-Moss/Brady vitriol? It's gone beyond embarrassing to plain irritating.

Yeah, Wes only has 267 catches in 2 1/2 seasons with Brady throwing him the ball.

I swear, I have no idea how some people can be so f^%$#@! dumb.

Back on topic: Two grown, hypercompetitive friends and NFL stars who are obsessed with winning actually having an argument? For reals? OH, NOES!!!
