Come on guys we are gonna be the #4 seed! If we can win in the first round at home (were we are undefeated might I add) then we most likely go to Indy (a team in a slump going into the playoffs) if we can win there, then we have momentum going into Cincy or San Diego most likely.
This was a totally meaningless game. So stop crying about it people!!!!!!!
Shades of Miami in 2006.
Completely agree....we can't win on the road. If not for the stupid Neal holding call we probably tie the game on that last drive with Hoyer as the QB....but things didn't happen that way. I've got tickets for next week and are now debating selling them, because I don't want to witness the loss.
BS. If it was so meaningless then why was Brady in the game until the final 2 minutes? We just proved that we can't play in the 4th quarter on the road. I guarantee that's how we'll lose in the playoffs. We could have shown some heart for the first time on the road all season, and completely failed. This was a totally meaningless game. So stop crying about it people!!!!!!!

Yeah, because NE's defense can really turn it on when they want to.You know, there could be a lot of truth to that.
It was very very vanilla after it went 27-13, on both sides of the ball. No stunts, no five and dime defensively, and just standard up the middle running and also pretty vanilla passing routes.
Worse case scenario happened to us today:
We lose our second most important player on offense.
Our defense couldn't hold anyone when it counted.
Our OL couldn't protect Brady when it counted.
Brady made a horrendous throw in a critical moment (something he's done more this year than he's ever made in his career).
We choke a 4th quarter lead again. Something we've done quite a bit this year.
EDIT: This was not a meaningless game. We could have wrapped up the 3rd seed today if we won. In 06, Indy hosted the AFCCG because they were the 3rd seed and we were the 4th.
Well, good luck to your Pats in the postseason. Looks like my Steelers handled their business, but we'll need a BIG TIME miracle now. Oh well. No one owes us anything, and missing the playoffs is all on the Steelers. Sorry about the Welker injury. Hope it's not as bad as you all expect. Once again, good luck.
Except Welker getting hurt (and I don't blame BB, it was a freak play in the first series) the only thing I can really get concerned about was Jonathan Wilhite. The guy is just consistently NOT getting it done. Hopefully Springs, Bodden, and Butler will be good for the playoffs.
The OL didn't dazzle me either...can they be more inconsistent?
Anything can happen. I'm happy they're in the playoffs. Today's game was meaningless, and Welker's injury could have happened at practice. Plus they get back Warren and Wilfork next week.
I like Edelman (sp?) as a Welker clone, and I think the TE's can get more involved. If Brady can avoid the Bledsoe moments, and just throw to the open man, good stuff will follow.
Keep the faith, baby!
Obviously a meaningless game, but let's be honest, even taking that into consideration, if we'd been asked to map out in advance roughly the worst-case scenario for this game, surely that wasn't far off? Huge injury blow with Welker seemingly done for the year and the defense throwing away another double-digit lead, ably assisted by the O drying up late once again.
Meaningless or not, you're crazy if you think confidence won't have taken another big hit after that capitulation. Had no issue with losing that game if we were conserving our starters, and have no issue with maybe ending up with the fourth seed, but not from 14 points up.
P.S. Can people PLEASE stop quoting NEPatriot, it defeats the object of having him on the ignore list. Thanks.
