I am skeptical that Wright simply needs more time, but I hope you are right.Wright is not going to make a noticeable impact on this team until 2015. He came in the last week of camp and just isn't a big part of the offense right now.
I don't even know if it is just Wright I think it maybe the offensive playbook might need an offseason too.Players like Blount and Ayers came in and made immediate impacts. I am skeptical that Wright simply needs more time, but I hope you are right.
...his production is because of Danny Amendola...good game today DA...His production is because of Jules
Not really an apples to apples thing. Also, Blount already knows the offense.Players like Blount and Ayers came in and made immediate impacts. I am skeptical that Wright simply needs more time, but I hope you are right.
The thing that makes Edelman so good is his consistency. Stepping up for a game or two per season is terrific and I'll take it but the key to being a top 25 player at your position is consistency. Edelman has that and Amendola does not.
Also the yards per catch, the overall effectiveness of the offense with Amendola instead of Edelman was noticeable. Gronkowski was not able to get open because the Jets were not concerned with Amendola doing anything beyond 5-6 yards.

I don't think anyone's going crazy over him. Just appreciate that he filled a role today for an injured player well enough to help secure an important victory. If he hadn't been available today, I think it's likely the Pats would have lost. I know it's a critical necessity for some on this board (not necessarily you) to always have a whipping boy and DA has filled that role and made those people feel all warm and cuddly most weeks. Well, today he stepped up and more than did his job and kudos to him for coming through as he did.a slot guy who averages less than 8 yards a catch. He was fine but nothing worth going crazy over.
I appreciate more now that he never plays.
Did anyone watch the actual game? Box score be damned, he is terrible. The Patriots run their whole offense around the slot receiver position; he SHOULD be open for some big gains. He gets zero separation, can't break tackles, can't accelerate, and always seems to come up just shy of the first down marker. He also stinks on kickoffs.
Edelman was missed today we scored 17 points and had a trouble on third down. No doubt he is limits Amendola's opportunities but the difference between them as players is noticeable. We will need Edelman out there if we want to win the SB.
Gronkowski was not able to get open because the Jets were not concerned with Amendola doing anything beyond 5-6 yards.
I think they should shift him back to wide receiver which was his original position, and draft or sign a tight end with blocking and some catching habilities. Put him the whole off season to work with Lafell, learn a little block from a receiver stand point, because he's no TE.I don't even know if it is just Wright I think it maybe the offensive playbook might need an offseason too.

Not same situations.Players like Blount and Ayers came in and made immediate impacts. I am skeptical that Wright simply needs more time, but I hope you are right.
We should stop trying to emulate Aaron Hernandez... a killer tight end.
