We. Have. Revis.

Awesome! Can someone enlighten me as to why this is a one year deal?

Are the pats just keeping Revis warm for a year so he can sign with the Broncos next season? I am kidding! (or am I?)

More time to work on deal? Franchise option? Not tied to him if he pulls something

CORRECTION: We have the BEST CB now. Talib is absolutely fantastic but never Revis unfortunately.

I agree, this is an upgrade. I hope the leopard does change his spots.

Who cares? We get a legitimate shut down corner. How good will our (healthy) defense be next year in combination with (hopefully) improved second year receivers. WOW, can't wait.

I think we should all care. One malcontent can sometimes create a huge negative storm around them, like with Adalius at the end of his run here, or Terrell Owens after year 1 everywhere, or Moss when he's not motivated.

A player like Revis can have a huge positive impact on the defense and I will keep my fingers crossed. But he can also have a huge negative impact, and I don't see how you can overlook that possibility or ignore it or not care at all about it. I guarantee the FO is thinking about it, and they must be comfortable with it or think they can change it. But they certainly won't pretend it doesn't matter.

Man I don't think I'll sleep til opening night. Where does Revis rank in Jets history? Top 5 at least?

Don't want to start thinking about it already but, what is franchise tag for him next year likely to be?

Another one of these after this year.....

Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't Revis' only a problem when he wants a new contract? I can't recall him having any problems with team mates during the season.

Typical gutter-think over at JI: "When we play the pats I hope someone takes Revis's knees out."

Someone please get a hankie for John Elway and Rexie.

Perfect definition of glass half empty.

Call it what you like. I tend to look ahead. It's never a guarantee that you can sign the player(s) you covet. The one year contract ensures that we go through this yet again next year. I can only hope that the contract details are wrong, or that they plan to work out an extended deal later.

I had full expectations that the Pats would sign Revis after Talib walked. I'm just disappointed that he'll be up for bidding again next year. Of course, there's the franchise option. Gotta believe the front office knows more than we do on these things.

Revis biz manager RT @JohnGeiger_: As of now, nothing has been agreed to with Revis and Patriots.

I don't get it but whatever

So Schefter and Breer reporting that it's done but his manager is denying it. What the **** is going on.

Yeah, huge upgrade IMO. Revis is a lot more consistent and not injury prone like Talib was.

Talib could shut down J. Graham or D. Thomas, but struggle bad against Josh Gordon and Steve Smith in other weeks.

BOOOOOOM!!!!!

Jets land just about now....

Because Revis gets paid again next year. He conceded on the money (lowered from $16M to $12M) and the Pats conceded on contract length.

WTF?

i don't get why he is saying that?

Backtracking going on now...

Oh. Revis' business manager... RT @JohnGeiger_: As of now, nothing has been agreed to with Revis and Patriots.

Wow.....talk about erasing Denver's thunder!

$12 million for 1yr.

Seems very odd, Patriots will "rent" him. I'd like to see a 3yr deal for 10mill...

Patriots will need another shutdown CB, next year...

Strange..
