If the team does poorly, they will use it as excuse for how Manning is better than Brady (and the whole "system QB" **** again). If the team plays well, that would suck as we all all hate the dolts. I guess a mediocre season, missing the playoffs by a game or two would be best-case for me.
I like Manning, respect him, and feared him.
Wouldn't take him over our guy, but he brought it, every time, made every game an event. Beating the Colts meant beating him, always more special because he is such a great player, who hates to lose so much, he doesn't bother trying to hide it, or fake it.
Beating him meant something. Not another day at the office.
Gonna miss him.
I miss him already, actually.
NFL is weaker without that man, hope he is able to overcome the odds and return.
He is most probably out for the year, and the Colts know it but will try their best not to let the news get out, because it will hurt business.
Cuz that would cost him money, and not the team. The thing I can't fathom is with hundreds of millions of dollars, why on earth do you require a specific set of doctors to rehab? (his lockout excuse). Why not just buy a freaking hospital full of doctors and specialists to work only with you.
People are overreacting to the news that Manning is out for an extended period of time. Sure the offense might drop off a little but Collins is better than a lot of starters in this league. He's also surrounded by A LOT of offensive talent.
The Colts performance is not going to be determined by the offense but the defense. They'll win more than 4 games.

Outside of Wayne and Clark, do they any offensive talent?
The line sucks, the RBs are mediocre and the receivers outside the two above are maybe not even mediocre without Manning.
Oh c'mon. You don't buy in to the crap that only Manning can make these guys stars do you? Addai is a solid RB and Collie & Garcon are genuine receivers. Saturday is a rock on the line. There's plenty of decent players on the Colts.I don't know. Collins is 39 years old. Hasn't started for more than 9 games in a season since 2008 and that was the only time that he has started in more than 9 games in a season since 2005. He is an above average back up Qb at best. I think he might be better than a handful of starters, but those starters are starters who shouldn't be starting.
They might win more than 4 games, but not much more. Maybe two or three more. The Colts' defense is built to play with a lead. They have no running game. Their offense is going to drop off quite a bit. Collins is a below average starter on a team built around the QB.
They probably should've drafted his replacement this year. The new guy would have this season to play, and then maybe two more to learn from Manning himself as a back up. Then Manning retires and the new guy steps up like Aaron Rodgers did.
They should trade us for Ryan Mallet this year and make him the heir.
All I know is I posted Will Carroll's piece on the other thread where he claimed the fusion procedure wouldn't even be considered for Manning because it would not do a damn thing for nerve regeneration and it was a career ender for a football player.
I'd do it for their 2012 2nd round pick right now.
