Here's the thing. Comparing what teams have done in the first half of the season is ridiculous. Most teams undergo drastic changes over the course of the season. Some teams like the Pats constantly improve, others like the Cardinals, fall apart. So it really doesn't matter what the Pats did against the Cardinals, Seahawks, and Rams. They were a different team then. If we want to get a better feel for where these 2 teams are right now, we should look at the last 4 or 5 games and THEN make our comparisons.

BTW- when did the Niners play the Packers?

Congrats on your win vs the Texans! I did not expect a blowout like that.

I'm a 49ers fan and I'm excited about this game because this is a huge opportunity to make a statement!

A big concern for this game is Brady & Welker. 49ers defense struggles vs small shifty WRs like Victor Cruz, and Danny Amendola, usually they will put Rogers on these guys which I think is a mis-match, and always gets exposed. I expect the Pats to take full advantage of this.

Besides that, I think it'll be one hell of a game because our defense looooves to play on prime time, expect them to come out and hit your players like no other team. Your receivers better put on extra pads for this one!

You all are gonna fly clear across the country to have your hats handed to you like so many other teams this season. I've seen the 9'er's schedule...This is going to be the true test..not only for the 9er's but more so for the Patriots. Compound the fact that Brady grew up a niners fan...lol...well....enough said...

I wouldn't say they get eaten up by TE's but they definitely don't eat up TE's either.

SF's defense has allowed 16 TD's this season 3 rushing and 13 receiving. They have allowed 6 TD's to TE's.

To TE's this season:
50 Receptions
421 Yards
6 TD's
against 76 targets.

SF's Defense allows 66% Completion rate and 8.42 YPC to TE's.

This reminded me that the last time the Pats played the Niners, it was in 2008 and Brady was out for the season. Crazy to think that the last time Brady his childhood team was week 17 in 2004.

Hopefully the offensive line's return to health wasn't a one-week thing. I also know that some people want Gronk held out until the playoffs, but I'm not one of them. As soon as he can get back out on the field, I hope he does. Let him put in the work now to get back up to playing speed, and if we win out thanks in part to his contributions, then he can get whatever rest he needs during the bye week. This will be a much, much easier matchup for the Pats if Vollmer, Mankins, and Gronk are all in there. If they don't bring their A-game in pass blocking, then it's tough to see them coming out of this game with a W.

Well you guys definitely have the advantage for this game. I would actually be real surprised if the 49ers come out with a win. I'm predict there's going to be a lot of short passing from Brady and crew which is going to provide plenty of opportunities for our defense to do what they do best, and that's hit people.

Many opposing WR's we've faced like TB's Mike Williams, AZ's Doucet, and NO's Colston have felt the after effects of getting lit up by our safeties, to the point they started short arming their opportunities the following week! Ain't that crazy!

But one thing I know for sure, is that your players will feel this one. It's going to be the most physical game they'll play all year.
