Old Man Corso was flapping on Temple before the game. Don't hear him yakking now.

I'd honestly like to know exactly what he was doing there. It looks to me like he is having his own football checked. Was there some sort of accusation from the other side? He seems pretty darn agitated.

FWIW, I do not think that the Head Coach of Penn State was using the opportunity to make some sort of anti-Patriots statement during the middle of the opening game of his season. I just think it is something that the entire football world will be paying closer attention to going forward.

I sure wouldn't mind knowing the story behind this whole thing.

While their loss at Temple is indeed an embarrassment, I don't believe that this was a shot at the Patriots. As another poster has mentioned, Franklin was obviously very heated and thought that something was wrong with the pressure of the balls. You can see QB Hackenberg on the sidelines checking them as well.

Unfortunately, this whole saga is starting to make people paranoid and we're likely to see other instances of this occurring. It's actually possible that if/when other teams have issues, it may help our vindication angle.

FYI--This head coach is James Franklin, who was recently rated as the #24th best head coach in the country via Sporting News. While Penn State may end up with something of a .500 record for the 2015 season, it's doubtful that he'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Being a temple grad, I spent the whole weekend trolling penn state fans. Gotta milk it as it probably won't happen for another 50 years. Oh, and BB should have drafted Wilkerson.

No doubt about it regarding paranoia ...

BOB loves what Franklin is doing at Penn St, which is taking Hackenberg from being a probable top half 1st rounder to maybe not even a 1st rounder. Which will allow BOB to get his franchise QB.

I remember a yr or two ago when people were claiming that he could be the top overall pick in the draft.

Now he'll likely go somewhere in the 2nd-3rd round, depending on how their season goes. After last year + this year's miserable 10/25 start and zero TDs, he could potentially fall even further than that.

Oh, and BB should have drafted Wilkerson.

I rarely look back with drafts, but there have been a couple of players whom I really thought were great fits. Mohammed Wilkerson and his versatility definitely fits into that category.

A couple/few thoughts:

--As a PSU grad (undergrad) I am embarrassed, so feel free to troll away. Blowing a 10-0 lead only ten mins into the game and allowing 27 unanswered points warrants such an act.

--The Temple program has been on the rise for awhile if I'm not mistaken, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Penn St shouldn't have taken them lightly, especially on the road. I think the consistency will come with time.

--There is a reason there are certain "rules" that should not be broken very often in the world of sports betting. Giving -7 points (or more than a FG, really) on the road is one of them. Although I bought an extra point to take it down to -6 (my first clue that my subconscious was leery), I still broke this rule and lost the wager. There was better value in other games, and I made a rookie mistake by wanting to feel the excitement of opening day.

He was the next Seymour. He's the reason temple went to a bowl game and had 9-4 & 8-4 records.

He was the next Seymour.
I couldn't agree more, and I thought his size, talent, and versatility made him a perfect fit here.

Really...I truly thought it was a done deal. He was my guy that year in the first rd.

He was my top rated pick for that draft position. And to see him play in college, I knew him intimately. So devastated he went to the jets.

With fortitude like this, Franklin will always have a job on the Colts he can fall back onto.

It's not paranoia, it's stupidity. Nobody has yet shown any advantage to football pressure. To believe a ball that you can't feel a difference in, actually makes a difference is to gauge shows a certain number is stupidity.

He might as well blame a witch doctor for cursing him, and spend his time pouring holy water on the balls, it will do just as much.
