With last night's win the Mets have scored exactly 100 runs in the 32 games in which he has started. Sad.

The other reason why he only has 10 wins is these days pitchers only go 5-6 innings. DeGrom goes about 6 2/3 a start so there is a lot of baseball left after he leaves the game.

To be fair, Rishard probably wouldn't be anything special week 1 with us either. Edelman has his question marks at his ceiling, but I don't think anyone we bring in today is going to help us bridge the gap until he gets up to speed. They'd likely be facing a similar (if different in cause) climb.

Whats a total anomaly is Snell has 21 wins in 30 starts but hes only pitched into the 7th 13 times whereas Kluber has done it 24 times in 32 starts.

My vote- Kluber.

How much is he making? I'm not against getting him as insurance for Gordon not working out, or an upgrade over Patterson on the actual WR depth chart, but if it ends up being just the latter, it will depend on price. Also, if Gordon acclimates and Edelman comes back, I expect Hogan and Dorsett (who have the benefit of time with the team in camp) would be in line for the next wave of targets. I'm not sure Matthews would see a huge volume here either.

My vote- Kluber.

I think, like with most awards, it's really context specific and a combination of a lot of things. ERA is one, because that's a measure of dominance. Wins is one, because that's a measure of consistency in my opinion. IP is one, because it shows that you impact a greater percentage of your team's games.
