This is something I've never understood. Brady just lost in the super bowl for a 3rd time and now people are acting like that is a blight on his resume, which I don't understand. Why is losing in the final round of the playoffs a strike against a players resume? It's as if any year that a player doesn't get that far doesn't even count lol. Guys lose in any other round of the playoffs and we don't think twice about it but if they lose in the final round it's like its the worst thing ever. Would Brady's legacy be better if he had lost to the Jags in the AFC title game rather than the super bowl? That's so backwards, a guy shouldn't be penalized for getting further.
And every time I bring this up people (not here but in other forums) always tell me "you don't get credit for just getting to the super bowl", I'm not saying Brady should get credit for just getting there. I'm saying he shouldn't be penalized for getting there and losing. This doesn't even just apply to Brady, it also applies to LeBron and any other team sport athlete. Putting emphasis on a players record in the final round of the playoffs makes no sense whatsover. Why is finishing 2nd in a given season WORSE then finishing 3rd, 4th etc.?
