Who should be available at 14?

It wouldn't be Cole Strange bad but it would be bad lol.

It wouldn't be bad.

It's not a position of particular need right now, but you're talking about possibly the best player in the draft, and a generational RB. Who can catch the ball too, by the way.

I mean, I see people on here who are all for someone like QJ at 14, who has a very high ceiling but serious flaws. Bijan has no flaws. I know the RB position has been devalued, but this guy is special. We're talking AP/LT kinda player here.

Again, it wouldn't be my choice at 14, but he would be a guaranteed impact player from day one

I would love that pick. Robinson is a top 5 player in this draft, and getting him at 14 would be a steal. You don’t pass on players of this caliber.
I like him but A) taking an RB at 14 feels unnatural and B) they have many bigger needs that could also be filled with that pick.

A good player to have paired with Rhamondre if you're thinking about starting a second-year 4th round QB from Western Kentucky.

Watch them draft Bijan Robinson lol

When have there ever been any leaks about draft picks? No-one had Strange last year. We are now to believe that "inside information" is leaking?

It's just a weird year, it feels like. Seems leakier than usual.

Taking arguably the best talent in the draft at 14 is unnatural. I'm confused.
========
He won't be there. If he is, Bill won't wait long to draft him.

For Bill, I mean.

I would not be surprised to see Skoronski drafted. He is ready to play, short arms and all. He has decent size and weight. He may not be a top lt, but he can be good enough.

Will Levis with a trade up to 3.
We have a relationship with Arizona’s front office.

IMO drafting an RB in the top 2 rounds is a bad idea...for any team for any year.

I think this is the next trend. Paying 40 mill a year for a decent qb whose 40 mill prevents you from putting a team around him good enough to win is bad enough but having to fully guaranteed it is crazy.

I agree and have been thinking about that, if Lewis is there at #14 and things are really bad with Mac, I wouldn't mind taking another shot at a controlled cost QB for another 5 year window.

Mac is still salvageable in my opinion but maybe not in NE and still has 3 years left on a rookie deal, a team like the Texans or 49ers could be a good fit for him.

Also, the whole Lamar Jackson situation for me it's not only about the injuries anymore but I think economics too, the invisible hand of the market is acting in full display, no team wants him at the price he thinks he's worth, the logic that the next QB in line for a payday will surpass the previous one at some point will stop, I'm not a cap expert but I think the contract for QBs has risen way out of proportion to recent cap raises. People are talking about the DeShaun Watson deal but the Kyler Murray for me was much more of an aberration, the signals were there the whole time and the Cardinals fold, the Ravens are smarter than that.

No. Don’t start over with a rookie, build the team around the QB. Using 1s on QBs keeps you from improving the team around them.
Mac is going nowhere. The run amok media is taking a rumor and repeating with no factual basis.

You don’t win running the ball. Look at the Titans. A historically dominant RB and what has that got them? You take RBs in the mid rounds because the drop off from elite to good is minimal.

Rham is a top 10 back on a 4th RD rookie contract. Robinson would be a cherry on top a sundae. We still need to add ice cream to our sundae, nevermind the cherry.

He's a fantastic prospect but it would make little sense considering our situation.

all this smoke and innuendo, much of it emanating from Foxboro makes me think we need to get ready for the inevitable trade down or OUT of the 1st round. I don't give a crap- if the RB is Eric ****erson redux, without an O line the RB is basically a eunuch. My 60 years as a rabid Patriots fan leads me to taking an O tackle, a left tackle, with our first pick. If I see a corner, or I see a trade down to get an extra 3rd round pick or any of that crap I'll have to sit back and just watch the carnage that ensues when the Pats flounder in last place.

I agree that it’s not a big need, but this could well be an All Pro caliber player, and you don’t pass those up. And one of the best ways to limit high scoring opponents is to control time of possession, and limit their drive opportunities, and a very good defense combined with the best run game in the league is a great formula for that.

Why have the 13 other teams passed on him then
