Because he was clearly shooting for a sexy quote. It fell very short in a no **** Sherlock type of way.

fyi - the Lombardi (approx) quote was from yesterday talking about league in general and i used it pregame in context of hoping for O allowing better complementary football.

people were all over bad D last week and those poor boys (w/o Flowers, Chung, Rowe..) hardly took a breather..

I am very impressed by the Pats gameplan this week both on offense and defense. This is a complete turnaround from the Lions game. The Pats got Brady into rhythm and they also moved the ball on the ground effectively. Defense played stout and shut down the Phins except for the meaningless TD drive in the end.

Hard to do it much better than that. Pats can build on their confidence and add Edelman back in week 5. Feeling good about the Pats again. It's early days, Pats are far from done!

Oh how about that Sony Michel? From being scorned, to being a bright light on offense. 112 yards and a rushing TD. Now we see why the coaches had so much confidence in him.

Positives: This was the first time they've dominated with a full team effort like this in awhile. The team came out and played with a must-win mentality, and every player showed tremendous effort. On defense, they seemed to communicate way better and didn't miss many tackles; when they did miss, there was always someone right there to finish the job. The team just seemed to play a lot looser; maybe they are just finding their identity now and lower expectations helped them to shake the 2x defending Conference Champions burden they've been carrying.

Negative: This is the first time I've wondered if Brady's age is actually catching up to him. He has played some off-games, but he has always seemed to be sharp and still playing at an elite level. Even when not at his best, typically his arm strength and decision making have not come into question.

Something just seemed to be off with him all game, despite his decent statistical output. He threw 2 INTs that were not good passes (arguably the first was just a good defensive play, but he usually throws it so it's only catch-able by his receiver.) A lot of throws were just off-target and required some athleticism to make a catch. The receivers and protection are not great right now, but Brady just seems rattled. He is throwing the ball quickly when he doesn't need to, and he isn't flawlessly moving around in the pocket like we are used to. We've seen him play with terrible supporting casts before, and he he doesn't look like this. I almost hope he has some undisclosed injury he is battling and this isn't the first cracks showing, like we saw with Manning in mid-2014.
Respect to you, Ice. This is where someone may accuse me of being a homer, but I will not entirely judge Brady entirely until the offense as a whole starts stringing together a few games of NFL caliber performances. I will not judge Brady entirely until Edelman is back. I will not judge Brady entirely until we see if the outside guys can play more consistently. Hogan still hasn't done much this season.

Let's see if the they can build on this game. It just makes no sense to me otherwise. This team put up 38 points today after only scoring 10 last week against a Lions team that really isn't that good. Until today, his most consistent help has been James White and he barely played last week. This week we saw everyone contribute, even Gordon. He looks like he can be something really good out there. Hopefully Gronk's injury isn't long-term. If Michel can further open things up by being a viable threat in the run game, we may be seeing the offensive turnaround most of us feel is coming. Then we can judge more accurately the GOAT. Football is a team sport like no other.

Cant wait for the coaches and Brady fully trusting him in pass pro. This will makes everything easier for him and the team because then he wont be a giveaway for a run play anymore.

At the very least I think we can all agree that Brady should rethink his approach to taking sacks when up by multiple scores. This could have been a disaster today.

So who gets cut for Julian?

What bit I was able to watch, Simon seems to play well. Let's hope that trend continues. Marsh had a couple of good games last year, so don't want to read much into today.

One important factor in signing him was he's experienced ST player.
He singlehandedly deactivated at least 2 Pats DEs (Grissom and Rivers) who play just one side of the ball - thus freeing another spot (this time used for additional DBs who are also best ST options esp. Crossen)..

Agreed. I'd like to see his pass catching also improve. That's when he truly will be tough to predict. And then you get him and White in the "Pony" package, and it could be a tough day for defenses.

No argument there. That hit was scary.

Flash Gordon is a physical specimen Dorsett is separating himself from Hogan. Hope Gronk is ok we should be able to take the Colts without him. Edelman coming back Yaaaaa!

Hogan is gonna start showing up. He’s a good 4th reciever.
