I don’t know. It sucks losing but this was about as easy a loss to swallow in a while

The best NFC team and they took them 12 rounds after a horrid start

pats looked like they have some players and they always start slow

I don't swallow, but I agree.

I completely agree - the only issue with that is - that's the whole window. It's this year and next year if Mac is your QB, after that, the road gets a lot harder.
Yes and no. Mac has 2023 and 2024 on his deal with cheap prices, and can be optioned for a 5th year at less than $30M for 2025. Then he can be franchise tagged if needed for 2026 which might be around $30M. By 2026 that won't be so killer for a starting QB. It means if the Pats aren't sold on Mac as the "long term guy" they can still play it out for the next 4 seasons while looking around for something better, at a cost of probably less than $70M total across those 4 years. And if you find a better option sometime in there, you can trade Mac to get the contract off the books. But hopefully, he instead establishes himself as "the guy". Either way, that's not TOO much of a hit to your cap when you have so much space and so many guys on rookie deals as starters.

Bill has to do a better job with his in game decisions. No excuses from him any longer.
He is rapidly factoring into the main reasons for losing.

Eagles fans are ecstatic about their new D coordinator.

Moral victories are getting old.
Fans who "hate" moral victories are the spoiled ass new age 2001+ Patriots fans who don't understand that you can't be a Superbowl contending team every year. I will take the moral victory. Offense looked good against one of the best teams in the league outside of some typical rainy day bullshittery. I liked the adjustments and it felt like we were never out of the game. Until 49 season Bill decided he didn't trust the defense that has been shutting down Philly all day enough to make it 19-17 with 9.5 mins left. I am more infuriated at that than I am Boutte forgetting this isn't LSU and Mac taking dumb ass sacks

I'll put you down as a "good loser" then.

And God forbid someone became a Pats fan less than 23 years ago, lol.

We're done with the moral victories. This is year 4 of a rebuild process.

Mac arm strength isn't NFL acceptable. These floating or soft entry tosses ain't gonna cut it. Nor is his pocket awareness where hes taking sacks in extremely important possessions.

Wtf is Bill doing with his decisions? He made more than a handful of mistakes today.

Just cause Mac doesn't look great doesn't mean his WR didn't have their own problems. It's more of the same. Balls hitting hands ending up on the ground.

They had a **** ton of chances to win that game and they blew every single one in glorious fashion.

To offset my negative take on the coaching, I will say, there is some of that dog in this team and given we were down some key players against the best NFC team is a good sign. If they would've won, it would've been as big as a statement this team could make going into a year where everyone doubts. The pieces are there, but just enough... to the point where coaching becomes the tilting factor.

Which is good. That's great. It's time for the coaching to do their heavy lifting and get better at situational awareness, which the captain of this boat has shown that they can improve and do well there.

Eagles were giving us the game and we said no thanks take it back.
This is what puts me on the fence with Mac. How do you get this opportunity and come out like this? He has rest of season to show us he can win games like these or else lets start looking again.

One small painful bit is that Bourne was the best looking WR today and is also the only WR who is not signed beyond this season. Everyone else is signed for 2+ more seasons.

Why do we have to wait till 2024 for TB12 to get his red jacket? Induct him already
In case after watching how unclutch Mac is, he wants to come back and the Pats might have a chance to actually complete a comeback.

I was disgusted the first 10 or 15 minutes of the game. the eagles went right down the field, then then there was an int , followed by a fumble. i had enough it looked like nothing had changed from last year. Tuned back in the second half of the second half, the offense looked a lot better and the defense had stopped the eagles on a number of drives. The team looks much better than it did last year including the patch work line. Also it dawned on me that even in the TFB era we lost games early on and got better as the season went on. I can see this team doing that.

Mildly surprised and ok with how things went. Shaky AF start but they got better. Just looking like it is going to take some time to gel and hopefully all will be good by November for a run. /crossingfingers+toes. Im just glad it didn't turn out like the 80s style blow out it looked like it was going at first....

I wouldn’t say no.

Hey guys. Just checking in to remind you how I took so much crap all offseason saying that getting JSS and letting Meyers go for the same money was the worst decision of the year. Pretty obvious now. JSS is slow and un-clutch.

In good news - Bourne is who we know he is.
If Boutte learns Pro-rules and learns to get 2 feet in, he feels like he can become a real player.
Pop didn't get a lot of chances, but can bring something.

I mean i became a fan in 2004 flipping a coin on who I'm rooting for in SB 39, and even I get the context of a 10-7, 7-9, TBD 3 year stretch. Everyone wants the new Patrick Mahomes and a Tyreek Hill but it's not like that. I actually really like Mac and the players on this roster and they put on a good show today despite the loss. It's totally OK to look on the bright side of things despite what the morons on 98.5 would tell you
