Derp. How clutch is Mac if Boutte drags his foot on 4th down? How clutch is he if all we need is a field goal to win after we passed up a 40 yarder with 9 mins left in the game? I'm honestly beginning to entertain the Bill is washed up talk more than the Mac blameIn case after watching how unclutch Mac is, he wants to come back and the Pats might have a chance to actually complete a comeback.
Yeah. Agreed. But his dropped pass attempt late in the fourth is inexcusable.Bourne was the best looking WR today
I think the tag will be more than 30, but I get your point.Yes and no. Mac has 2023 and 2024 on his deal with cheap prices, and can be optioned for a 5th year at less than $30M for 2025. Then he can be franchise tagged if needed for 2026 which might be around $30M. By 2026 that won't be so killer for a starting QB. It means if the Pats aren't sold on Mac as the "long term guy" they can still play it out for the next 4 seasons while looking around for something better, at a cost of probably less than $70M total across those 4 years. And if you find a better option sometime in there, you can trade Mac to get the contract off the books. But hopefully, he instead establishes himself as "the guy". Either way, that's not TOO much of a hit to your cap when you have so much space and so many guys on rookie deals as starters.
His arm strength is just fine, he was sacked twice all game against a sack happy defense. In that situation just don't give the ball away. We're done with the moral victories. This is year 4 of a rebuild process.
Mac arm strength isn't NFL acceptable. These floating or soft entry tosses ain't gonna cut it. Nor is his pocket awareness where hes taking sacks in extremely important possessions.
Wtf is Bill doing with his decisions? He made more than a handful of mistakes today.
Just cause Mac doesn't look great doesn't mean his WR didn't have their own problems. It's more of the same. Balls hitting hands ending up on the ground.
They had a **** ton of chances to win that game and they blew every single one in glorious fashion.
Sow is definitely ahead of Mafi. Both have ability, esp Sow. Mafi struggles in pass protection.the 2 Rookies didn't suck.
I'll also add we need to do a better job running the ball.No morale victories, just matter of facts.
Facts:
We shut down one of the most dynamic offenses in the league.
We moved the ball well against one of the best defenses of the league.
Make shift oline gave us a shot. Shout out Klemm.
We were 2 plays short of pulling out a W. Have to be better.
Go pats.
Thanks. What a way to start the thread.Moral victories are getting old.
Was shocked by how good Sow looked. Might want to keep him on the field, but he's playing Onwenu's role. Onwenu to RT?Sow is definitely ahead of Mafi. Both have ability, esp Sow. Mafi struggles in pass protection.
I'd agree, but I appreciate BoB not slamming his head against a brick wall against that front 4, either.I'll also add we need to do a better job running the ball.
Did Mac not get both feet in bounds after catching the ball, twice today? In case after watching how unclutch Mac is, he wants to come back and the Pats might have a chance to actually complete a comeback.

Very true. Could very well be BoB decided to pull out of that and just ride Mac's arm after the first half. It was brutal.I'd agree, but I appreciate BoB not slamming his head against a brick wall against that front 4, either.
