I’m not sure why you think anyone thought he had.The point being- he didn't turn into the Edelman he is now, overnight.

There are hundreds more players who were ineffective for 3-4 years who never became effective than outlier examples like Edelman.I am pointing to the example of Edelman as a reason why we shouldn't give up on Dorsett so early (not that he's failed by any stretch of the imagination, but as far as his potential).
Dorsett has just begun his 4th season, and his 2nd with a new team.
Edelman only became very productive from his 5th season on.

What Dorsett will do has nothing to do with Edelman.
One player who didn’t produce for years and then did is not proof another one will when hundreds have not. It's useless arguing with you because you never see my point, or you chose not to out of obstinacy.
My point is, look at Edelman- he didn't really blossom until his 5th season, and most players who are going to be any good, hit their sweet spot around their 5th season.
That's all there is to it. This is not a Dorsett vs. Edelman discussion.

It’s like saying any QB should be able to be an mvp at 40 because look at brady.
Rowe's DNP is no surprise.
This is why I wish we hadn't let Ryan Lewis walk.
If Miami wins Sunday...they could very easily be an 11 or 12 win team...take a look at their schedule, not many tough games...@cin, @min, Jax, and @gb really only tough games after sunday
A win Sunday and Miami just needs to go 7-5 rest of the way to get to 11-5 and likely win the division...if this happens, the Pats would drop to 1-3 and could go no worse than 10-2 to win the division...scary times these...
Ryan Lewis was, at best, the 7th or 8th CB on the depth chart. There's no way he was going to be kept on the 53.Rowe's DNP is no surprise.

Correct Im never concerned about Devins Football IQ its all physical which is terrifying. That is a very scary quote. It is an acknowledgment from a player that ability is the issue.

He is not going to be the savior of the offensive problems and he probably won't be the deciding factor one way or the other in this next game so if he is not ready to start then so be it - the team needs to play with urgency if they want this division for another year but we need to see a healthy Gordon to really see if he has anything left after a roller coaster career - if he is rushed in due to desperation then to reinjure a hammy could be a long process to recovery.Josh Gordon limited... fantastic
Edelman was able to slowly develop because Welker was the main man in the middle - once Welker left Edelman took over and grabbed all the touches...if Welker wasnt here in Edelmans first 2 years i would bet he would have been forced to develop much soonerEdelman took years to develop because he was a college QB
Dorsett has always been a WR, promising enough to be a 1st round pick. He shouldn’t need 5 years or even 3 years to develop
I mean the secondary depth is there, I wouldn’t be focused on hindsight with Ryan Lewis of all things. How did we know Rowe would be hurt? I’m ok with JCJ getting more reps.
