Never been a fan of "chasing points" I know there are analytics involved but still....

I think it is a little smarter now that the point-after kick is much further out. We still have it burned into our brains that the PAT is automatic, but it's only like 80-ish percent these days. So that definitely influences the decision to try for 2 sometimes.

It used to be like %98 and it did go down but it's still over %90.

Yes but this is where context comes in....Bass was 92% for XPs. The Chiefs are not a high scoring team. KC is D is stout on short yardage and allowed 33% success for 2pt. BUF was 50% success rate.

Just way too anxious. No need.

Hopefully this is like Ross says and is just semantics. I wasn’t thinking he was involved in an official way regardless. ANY involvement would be beneficial really.

Agree. He's probably not getting paid to advise...which makes sense.

Scott Booker (Safeties coach)
Justin Hamilton (CB coach)
Clinton McMillan (D-Line coach)
Kevin Richardson (Defensive assistant)
Milton Patterson (Defensive assistant)

If any of these guys ends up being a head coach, we will get a comp 3rd round pick in two consecutive years.

Alonzo Highsmith is the only minority in our front office. If we lose one of our coaches (to be a HC) AND Highsmith (to be GM), we then get a 3rd round comp pick for three consecutive years.

Hmmmm....

I like it...McDaniels will be around to provide continuity...and we can get comp 3rds if any of these guys lands a HC/GM job.

Not quite. They had an OL Coach (Scott Peters) and an Assistant OL Coach (Robert Kugler), that’s all. Cincinnati hired Scott Peters away but not Kugler. Cincinnati also hired Michael McCarthy off of NE’s staff, but McCarthy was not an OL Coach - he was just an offensive assistant.

It was reported last offseason that he was to work mostly with the offensive lineman which I’m assuming was the case given he’s now “officially “ the Assistant OLine coach with the Bungles. The literalness some on this board use to “got ya” somebody is sad.

I find it interesting that the have an OL coach and also TWO assistant OL coaches. That’s a lot of money tied up in OL coaching… Plus apparently Dante coming and advising sometimes… maybe they think with a ton of eyes and attention they’ll be able to coach up some lesser prospects, or unlock the potential of guys they already have (Wallace, Robinson, Sow)

I love that Marone and Scar have met and discussed the OL that works best with McD offense. I also like that there are 2 assistants that can learn the details of McD offenses. I read that Josh goes to the OL coach with his weekly game plan and the OL coach figures out how to block it that week.

I knew they game planned weekly under Bill, but I didn't think it would affect the OL that much because it was still pass and run blocking. Well I was naive about the importance of "teaching it up" weekly. I heard some interview that Scar said he is not going to work for the Pats this season, but I wonder if that means he is hands off of the organization or just not involved in the daily grind as a consultant.

The way it was phrased was vague and confusing to me.

Along the same line of thinking if they want their Fullback he’s there for the taking: Willie Lampkin 5’10 280 UNC. Despite his size he was named the Best Blocker in the ACC.

People should go read the reports on this kid, he’s everything you want in a football player. Hes never going to be an offensive lineman in the NFL, but he deserves a chance, and could end up a great FB. And he should be available for them.

I would draft him on day 3. When you read the stories about him it’s clear that he always exceeds expectations, and he’s everything you want in a football player. I think he could become a great Fullback. And Drake Maye played with him in college.
