Vollmer returns to practice

Do we know for sure that Solder could handle a Charger Cheerleader rushing from OLB?

We don't have any evidence that he'd be able to.

I'd like to volunteer for that particular challenge, in Solder's stead.

No, it's far too perilous!

I thought solder played well against wake. With koppen out, will be good to have more options on oline with vollmer back.

This takes me down memory lane around the time when Vollmer was first making his debut. didn't he handle dwight freeney pretty well? I think that was the matchup or was it the Bill's schobel? In either case I remember thinking he acquitted himself real well, and if Vollmer could handle an elite DE his rookie year he would be more than fine. And the rest is history. Solder cut his teeth on Cameron Wake and did pretty darn well. I don't think I'm worried about him against most passrushers in this league.

Having confidence in something is very different than having evidence of something. You're likely correct that they won't throw a D-tackle against offensive tackle, I think it's because it's too out of the box for most coaches but I know who I'd have my money on in a match-up between Wilfork and Solder.

There are less than a handful of people in the world who are even in Wilfork's league and Wilfork is one guy Solder will never have to go against except in practice. The only guy I can really think of who could give Solder fits is Hali Ngata. And that man is not a man, he is a monster who eats OL for breakfast. So it would be no shame for Solder to need help against a Beast like that.

Now that is a matchup that I do not want to see.

Ngata has been a beast since day one, and is just constantly improving.

I hope last week's game is not a sign of how good BAL has become this yr, as I actually wrongly assumed that they may take a step backwards, with some younger CB's, 'no-name' TE's, and the loss of Mason. I am hoping that the Steeler beatdown was just a case of divisional rivalry foes, in which case they had it coming.

Time will tell.

Dude are you messing with us? I never heard this word in my life before the games this week. Now three times in 5 days. Trickeration isn't a real word, is it? Trickery, yes. Did I miss a thread ragging on the announcers about this somewhere?

Or did it finally break from the urban dictionary into the wiki mainstream? Enough fans and announcers heard it on TV, so it must be a word. Funny stuff.

He actually went into Colorado as a TE I believe, but he doesn't have to catch to line up at TE. He would be there as a run blocker or to set the defense up for play action. And maybe you could use him for some trickeration on the goalline.
