The opts out last year were kinda overrated outside of Hightower. Most of them wouldn’t have made the team.

The last game of the year showed the type of player Asiasi could be. Let’s also not forget the Pats had the worst starting QB in the NFL throwing to him. I can almost guarantee he will be TE 3 this year.

Let’s also not forget both Smith and Hunter have injury histories. I doubt very much neither miss any games in their during their stays with the Pats. There will be a need for Asiasi and/or Keene.

I agree with everything you said. My only concern is we have seen this story before with some guys where they just cant get on the field early on and then never end up doing anything. I am hoping with a real offseason and not having the pressure of being the starter at a tough position to learn he will start to develop.

Asiasi isn’t going anywhere. He’s a talented player, who by the end of the season, was the team’s best TE (that’s not saying much). I’d be shocked if he doesn’t make the final 53.
