Rodgers achilles heal is his head coach. No doubt he would have 2-3 rings by now if he had Belichick.
What a ridiculous notion

Honestly, for those of you who think Mike McCarthy is a great head coach just look at what he’s done over the past 8 seasons. He’s got one of the top 5 QBs of all time
When people say someone has got all the physical tools over another QB, they are talking about athleticism and arm strength. But there's so much more to the position of QB. Like a quick release. Like accuracy. Like reading defenses and making quick decisions. Like moving around the pocket and avoiding the rush. Like having the guts to keep your eyes downfield when mayhem is going on all around you. Like making short throws that put your slot guys and backs in maximal position to gain yards. Like refusing to lose and being a leader.
When I look at those criteria, I actually put Dan Marino at #3, because he only failed at the last criteria, and it was a big one. He was the Philip Rivers of his day, getting angry and constantly chewing out teammates. But Marino could do everything else incredibly well. I think he was a better thrower than Rodgers too.
1. Brady (all the criteria except running outside the pocket).
2. Montana (all the criteria except a strong arm)
3. Marino (a hothead)
4. Manning (sometimes gutless)
5. Brees (all the criteria except a strong arm, like Montana without the wins)
6. Young (great accuracy, very mobile, did not command the pocket, got hurt often)
7. Rodgers (he can do everything, but even at the age of 34, legacy is skimpy)
Those are my 7. After that, you can bring up Staubach, Bradshaw, etc., but I think they are just behind the top 7. Bradshaw had an Aikman like career, Staubach was steady and a winner, but not spectacular. As for Elway, it took him until the age of 37 to look like one of the best, and I'm not going to credit him for 2 fantastic seasons only, because before that Elway was one of the most inaccurate QBs in the league. He used to frequently drive the ball into the ground on regular flareouts. He may be in my top 10, but just barely
Notice that I did not highlight victories as one of the key criteria. If I had, Marino would not be #3.
The top 8 QBs of all time are locked in. The line starts at #9. The 8, in no particular order, are:
Brady
Montana
Starr
Baugh
Graham
Unitas
Staubach
Young
Not a bad list but it overlooks one of the key strengths for a QB, coming through in the clutch. It's one of the main reasons why I'd move Rodgers down, in spite of his talent and replace him with someone like Roethlisberger, or even Russell Wilson (in a few years).
I also don't know where to draw the line historically. If I had to pick a QB then Johnny Unitas would rank right up near the top, as would Bart Starr, Ken Stabler and Warren Moon. Hell, if you want to go back far enough Otto Graham could be at the top of the list.
It's tough to make out any list of great QBs.

ummm McCarthy calls the plays. he gave it uptemporarily and it was dumpster fire. hes not a bad head coach either...his team has done well enough. not the GOAT thoThen he should be the OC, not the HC
Starr, Baugh, Graham, Unitas, before my time. I'm judging them by what I saw when they played. Staubach I did see, but would rather have Young if I had to pick a team.
Fans and analysts have done the G.O.A.T. thing a gazillion times. What we should probably be doing is the G.O.T.S.B.E. (Greatest of the Super Bowl era). That would probably lead to a more fluid top 10, and it would certainly be a list that's a bit more easily analyzed because of the game being more similar. Hell, today's game is radically different from what was being played even in 2004, which is radically different from pre free agency football, and pre SB era football is almost a completely different sport.
But, since the measure laid down was G.O.A.T., Starr, Baugh, Graham and Unitas are must haves.
Yesterday was one single data point. It is preceded by many others. While there can be only one GOAT, that doesn't mean there can't be other great QB's. Aaron Rogers is certainly one.

Young over Manning, Marino, Brees, Elway or Favre? Lol

His 10-8 playoff record speaks for itself. I stand by my belief thay Mike McCarthy is the biggest detriment to Rodgers getting ring #2
The point is that it’s not far-fetched to include Rodgers in the top 5.
You're not even trying to be thoughtful on this. Manning is a career 14-13 in the playoffs. Roethlisberger is 13-8.
Edit: we're having a back-and-forth discussion on the topic and you still clicked the "disagree" button? Are you four years old, or something?
100% I'd take Manning.I would take Manning in his prime over Rodgers. Manning despite his many failures did produce all time great numbers at times during his career.
